“A quaint theater on Park City's main street”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012

The Egyptian Theater is located in the historic downtown of Park City, UT. It is on the main street. During the year, there are a number of plays and comedy acts that perform there. During the Sundance Film Festival, it is one of the choice locations to feature films. The theater is small (my estimate is there are about 400 seats). The seats are a little dated. So, if you are planning on attending an event .... get the ticket(s) quickly especially if you think others will attend.

While the outside of the theater is unremarkable, the inside has great photos of artists that have attended the theater. The floor is granite and there is an "Egyptian" theme.

As for parking, there is no theater parking. You will need to park in one of several public garages located in the north end of the historic town. That said, these garages are no more than 10 minutes walking distance from the theater--assuming no snow or ice on the ground. As for restaurants--pre- pr post-performance-- there are plenty of them in town as well as boutique type shops (artsy stuff like pottery, paintings, photography, and fur shops).

“Great Venue!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

The Egyptian is a Park City Institution. Built in 1922 and refurbished in the mid 90's is a great venue. I have seen some great bands there and it is used heavily during the Sundance Film Festival! The park city performing arts use it for plays and it is also available for private parties! Great place to see music in an intimate setting!

“Charming, Historic Theatre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

The Egyptian is an intimate, historic theater that is a staple of Main Street. It offers an array of performances from musicals to plays to live music performances. The theater does a great job of having programming every weekend. The only downside is the entertainment often caters to the dinosaur crowd, especially the live bands they bring in from the 1960s and 1970s. It would be nice to have some entertainment that appeals to a slightly younger crowd.

Every seat in the small theater is a good one! And it's also a fantastic venue to catch a film during Sundance.

“Amazing Talent on Main Street”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

I've seen a few shows at the Egyptian Theatre. Was lucky enough to see the star of Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera - "Peter Karrie" perform in touring concert in July. This theatre company puts on several different shows a year and brings in traveling artists (such as Mr. Karrie) and comedy acts (such as Second City) in addition to their own repertoire.

The quality of entertainment is always extremely high, the ticket prices are reasonable, and front of house staff are pleasant (I believe they are volunteers). You wont be disappointed.

“Entertaining and Quaint”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

I'm use to big city Theater's, but love The Egyptian for the shows that they bring into town. The management takes alot of interest in making sure you are taken care of and enjoy the shows. Everyone visit to PC, we go to at least 1-2 shows.
