“Outstanding food, location and service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2010

My husband and I stayed here and can't say enough good things about the resort. We were upgraded to a suite with a top of the line kitchen and furnishings. The outdoor hot tub and pool are right on the slopes. The ski valet helps you get in to your boots. They chaffeur you around town in cadillac escalades. The service is amazing. Dinner at J&J grill was as good as any meal in NYC. Great wine list. The only thing that would prevent us from going back is that we prefer more challenging ski terrain. If only Snowbird had resorts like this!

Pros: This hotel is fantastic. The interior design work is some of the best I have ever seen. The rooms are amazing - we stayed in a one bedroom suite. The staff is very nice, very friendly. Butler service of AM coffee and tea was a bonus. Fitness center was great, pool is awesome. The ski service is the best - you never have to wait for more than 15 seconds for anything - they are on it. Escalade shuttle service to Park City was great.

Cons: Need to fire the staff at the outdoor bar and replace those employees with the ones working at the ski service - slow, slow slow - waited for 15 minutes for a menu, 15 more minutes went by - no apres ski beverages; finally went to the window and cancelled the order (when I did so, there was another guest there also cancelling his order). There were a lot of upset guests undergoing alcohol withdrawal. The setting is amazing spot for drinks. Definitely go there, but at this point, you need to bring your own beverages, as the staff does not know what they are doing. (The place was not busy - it seemed overstaffed, with lots of waiters standing around, looking like they didn't know what to do).

Rooms are a bit hot. My 80 year old father woud love it. Even with the heat off, the rooms are a bit uncomfortable at night.

Stayed on the second floor, and was woken up about 3-4 times every night by the snow groomer going past the room (ski run is in the back). Not sure if the hotel can do anything about that. I'd say if you're a light sleeper, choose a room on the other side of the hotel.

Even though there are negative things about the hotel, the pluses far outweigh the negatives. We will be back. I just hope they work out the service problem at the outdoor bar by next year.

We arrived at 11.30 P.M. we were greeted by the night butler Tom who’s service and knowledge was OUTSTANDING!!! The room was the Delux Suite, GORGEOUS!!! The complimentary shuttle service was extremely convenient. Never needed to wait for the funicular. All and all our stay was spectacular would go back any time. (actually I am going back in the summer for a few weeks)

Being a heavy traveler, I have close to 1000 nights under my belt and this may be my favorite. Everything from beginning to end was perfect. I started by working with the concierge on setting up activities and Jeff was extremely helpful and forwarded me tons of helpful information. The truffle amenity was delicious, the service was incredible and after the first day, everyone knew how to make our stay even better. Everyone remembered our names, followed up on everything we asked for and ensured that we were well taken care of. The hotel Escalades were very convenient and the hotel staff took EVERY measure to make our stay as comfortable and leisurely as could be. Our butler was on top of everything and surprised how fast service was. The butlers phone would rarely ring more than 2 times.
The hotel itself was beautiful. Top notch appliances, great beds and the bathroom even had a tv in the mirror! Overall, I'd come back to this hotel anytime and its worth every penny.

Mu husband and I just returned from our stay at the St Regis Deer Crest. We stayed at the Canyons for the first couple of nights we were there (for work/Sundance) and then moved to the St Regis for a couple of nights of R&R before heading back to LA.

We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. Attention was paid to EVERY detail the entire time we were there.

We are SPG Gold and although Gold does not always = an upgrade we were upgraded to an amazing suite with a kitchen, dining/living room, two fireplaces etc. The suite also came with butler service. We've had "butler" service at many hotels around the world (One and Only's, St Regis Bora Bora etc) and I've always half wondered what their exact purpose was. I felt that the butler service at the St Regis was flawless and the morning coffee service (daily) was a really nice touch.

We enjoyed drinks in the St Regis Bar but for the most part had in room dining and enjoyed every meal. We had one flaw with our breakfast one morning and it was instantly fixed.

I had a facial at the Remede Spa. The ammenities are amoung the best I've experienced anywhere. The treatment itself was good, albeit pricey. My only complaint was that the music was skipping during my treatment and so they had to turn the music off and I could hear every door open close/toilet flush etc. Not a huge deal but for the price kind of frustrating.

All in all a wonderful getaway with perfect service and beautiful accomodations!

Our family of five have stayed in all of the best ski-in/ski-out hotels in the Mountain West and this is by far the best. The J&G Grill restaurant was outstanding. The ski valet spoiled us. The funicular was easy. The service at the hotel was outstanding.

This is simply the most extraordinary ski hotel I have ever seen, let alone stayed in.

The facilities are stunning, from the lobby to the exercise room to the pool to the various outdoor fire pits.

The location could not be better. The ski valet puts your skis on the snow, you click into them, and then you ski down a perfectly groomed run to the Deer Crest lift (which, although not a high-speed lift) has some of Deer Valley's most overlooked terrain.

The room was wonderful. We had a deluxe suite (which was an upgrade from a standard room). It had a full kitchen with everything top of the line (i.e. sub-zero, bosch, etc.). There were two fire places. The enormous separate shower had an overhead rain forest shower and a standard shower head. This was the best hotel shower I've experienced. The bath was spacious and comfortable. Remede products proved first rate. Both the living room and the bed room had wonderful furnishings. Both had fireplaces. Both had balconies.

Service was superb. It is as if the staff was trained by the Four Seasons. Everyone was wonderfully friendly and went out of their way to help however they could. The overworked ski valets were terrific and brought order to chaos.

J&G Grill was delicious for dinner, and reasonably priced especially for a hotel restaurant. We ate at the observation bar and ordered the tasting menu, 6 courses for $58 per person. Each course was a show-stopper. We also had lunch there on our last day, and it was enjoyable. Do try the housemade ginger ale.

Perfect? No. There are some really small things to be worked out. After-ski hot chocolate service is off. They run out every day, because they aren't using a big enough container. And there was often an odd odor in the hallway on the fourth floor.

Having visited all the great hotels in Whistler, Aspen, Vail, and Beaver Creek, it is my opinion that the St. Regis sets a new standard in excellence.
