“Excellent service in a beautiful slopeside location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013 via mobile

My spouse, daughter and I spent five nights here during ski season. We were extremely pleased with our experience, especially the service by the staff. From a skiers perspective it was heavenly because it was true ski-in/ski-out and the ski valet made it so effortless to deal with your equipment (the biggest annoyance of skiing IMO). In addition you could buy your ski lift tickets and rent your skis right in the hotel. The staff in the ski area were very friendly and helpful. Deer Valley of course is a great mountain to ski with plenty of terrain for all levels and no snowboarders!

The hotel is up on a hill with access to the Base Lodge via funicular which is very cool. We have never seen anything like it before and we rode it many times just for fun. In this case the Base Lodge was pretty devoid of anything but lifts as the real center of the resort is higher up the mountain. However, it does provide access to frequent buses which take you to Park City for free just five minutes away (or just arrange the hotel's free shuttle service).

The interior of the hotel was a very warm contemporary style but lacks some of the mountain charm of other upscale lodges. Nevertheless we found the amenities to be great including the usual pools, hot tubs and fitness center. We rarely missed the daily hot chocolate bar and nightly s'mores. Again, the hotel staff was always very friendly and helpful often going out of their way to go the extra mile for you. The hotel bar was always hopping in the evening and was apparently a draw for non-hotel guests and locals in the area. We ate several times in the JG restaurant and felt the food was very good and competitively priced for the area (breakfast was not our favorite).

All in all it was a terrific place to relax, ski and convenient access to Park City and nearby resorts.

While staying at a friends home recently during Sundance Film Festival, we took the funicular up to eat lunch on the outside deck. First of all, what a view, and secondly, what a buffet! We enjoyed every part of it, especially that dessert bar and candies to go. The "grill master" was charming and helpful, he made us want to come back and he served up some great grilled itmes. But Jonathon Mcauley, the restaurant manager went above and beyond. One of our party had a altitude problems. He made sure we were well supplied with water, had the bartender mix up a homemade ginger ale for her queasiness and provided her with an aerosol oxygen can to boost her O2 levels. He kept coming back to check on us. If this norm for the St Regis, I am looking for them wherever we go.

This is a nice property, with nice facilities, nice staff, nice location, and nice rooms. It's totally nice! Unfortunately for the price, you would hope for quite a bit more than just NICE. There's just something strange about this hotel, like it has absolutely no character or soul. It feels very cold and sterile. Yep, it has all of the amenities that you would expect when paying for a property of this caliber, but every part of the experience left us feeling like we were missing out on something. We didn't do a lot of research, but I'm sure there's better places to stay in the area.

This hotel is fabulous in every sense of the word. The service is hands down the best I've ever experienced. We were lucky enough to have a 7th floor room with a balcony facing the slopes, it was like heaven. If you're looking to be pampered while on a ski vacation, look no further. The ski valets are fantastic and really make it painless to get suited up and store the equipment. The apres ski options are very cool and the heated pool and hot tub are perfect after a long day on the slopes. Book this place right away for your next luxury ski trip to deer valley. Have fun!

If you're going to Park City to ski and expect luxury the St. Regis is for you. Our room was not as large as we expected but the appointments were tasteful and view fantastic. Since we got a workout on the slopes we didn't take advantage of the weightroom area. Food, bar, hot chocolate, room service, on site rental ski shop, location get 5 stars. We will stay here again next winter vacation and have already made reservations.

Room Tip: Upper floor with a view.

We stayed at the hotel (2 adults and 2 children) and we think back on that stay with mixed feelings. The location and views are great, the staff very friendly but too many little things went wrong to be abel to say it was an amazing visit. The room, (upgraded, thanks again for this) was beautifully appointed but missed the views you'd expect from this property. The pool area was lovely. Only a shame I had to go over to the reception to get pool service. It turnred out nobody had noticed that the regular person looking after the pool had called-in sick that day... The restaurant suggestion for Park City was a complete miss, we went in, sat down and left again. The place wasn't attractive at all and the smell.... My biggest disappointment however was the overall F&B approach. When we came in (after a 6 hour drive) we couldn't get a table outside. Dinner was something to forget. We returned a plate twice, ended having dinner seperately and a discussion with the chef who was convinced that gamba's that were grilled black and tasted burned were a delicacy. Another night we had a similar disagreement about asparagus. The s'mores in the evening were great, and the many apologies when we left were appreciated. Will we be back? Not sure yet.

My sister and I make it our ritual to visit the St. Regis every time I'm visiting her in Park City. It's white glove service with spectacular views and the sunset champagne sabering is a very special touch to the end of the day. Marcel is fantastic and can tell you the history of the region and what the mural behind the bar signifies for the surrounding area. Having a sunset cocktail at the St. Regis bar is a **must** if you're visiting Park City.
