“4.5/5 - excellent eclectic food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

Make reservations for sure. We went on a Tuesday and it was absolutely packed. This restaurant has an excellent vibe, decor, and an eclectic menu which is very creative. Outdoor elevated patio too if you want to sit outside.

Two of us had the Utah trout, two of us the Trio of Wild meats (Venison, Elk, Buffalo). Just absolutely excellent flavor and presentation. Also have the Buffalo Tartar as an appetizer. All over the top. Service was timely, appropriate, and never in your face. The chef here has hit the mark with local fare that you cant get everywhere in the US. Although there is alot on the menu, it doesnt feel overwhelming.

Wouldve given 5 stars but we waited 50 minutes even though we had a reservation - the restaurant comped our corkage fees, but we had to ask for that. Shouldve been suggested by the servers or Maitre'D.

Well worth the $$$ you will spend

“Xmas dinner in the snow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

I had heard good reports of this restaurant prior to booking online from Australia. We were not disappointed. The occasion was Christmas dinner. It was the first time away from family and we wanted it to be memorable for all the right reasons. The restaurant is upscale and the prices reflect this. On arrival we were greeted by the manager Adam Palmer. The dining area is quite large, but manages to look intimate and welcoming. The wait staff were plentifull and very knowledgeable both on the menue and the wine list. We enjoyed the Riverhorse Tower as a starter which was beautifully presented and was delicious. We both chose the signiture dish of Alaskan Halibut for the main course. We were not disappointed with our choice. The staff were very attentive without being overbearing. I would certainly recommend this restaurant for a fine dining experience Thank you to all at The Riverhorse for making our Christmas so memorable.

“The Best on Main Street, Park City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

If you’re going to Park City and want a great meal, this could be your best and only choice. The menu is unique to all the other restaurants on Main Street and the food does not let you down.
This was the third time my wife and I ate at Riverhorse and brought along another couple.
We started with three appetizers; the pot stickers, spicy shrimp and tomato soup all of them were very good, I especially enjoyed the pot stickers.
For our main dinners; the trio of wild game was the star of the table just wish they could cut back on the sauces which hides the great tastes of the three meats, the Utah Red Trout is a close second place on this menu and a huge portion, the All Natural Niman Ranch Braised Pork is excellent and another huge dish that really could be shared between two adults, last was the Halibut which is (drenched swimming in butter), not our style and was a waste of a beautiful fish.
The Corkage fee is crazy, $35 per bottle, but when you look at their wine list you might as well bring a better bottle with a much better year than they have, because their prices are outrageous on mediocre wines and their reserve list has nice well known wines but nothing is older than 5 years. Why waste hundreds of dollars on wine from this menu, when the when is sooo young and shouldn’t be drunk for another 5 to 10 years?
I would recommend this restaurant over any of the others on Main Street, but one that is closing the gap on creative, excellences and value is the Purple Sage.

“Loud and Slow”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

Will never go back. We have been there numerous times. I made this reservation five weeks in advance. We arrived on time for our 7pm reservation for four and were taken through a mainly empty dining room set up for many large groups, into the private party room which had a table set for a large group and two tables along the back wall bench with chairs set four four. I remarked to the hostess, "We have never had to sit in the 'bat-cave' before." Things went downhill from there. The food, as usual, was fantastic but it took forever to get each course served. The large group was seated, they were loud, obnoxious, and monopolized our waitress. It appeares they are now more interested in serving large groups than a locals party of four. Too bad.
