“Silver King Christmas Stay This yr and others!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

We have stayed at this hotel for over 20 yrs off and on. Some of that time we have resided in Utah and more of that time, we have resided in Seattle area.

We have had celebrated our anniversary, Mother's Day, Bday's and Valentines and attended summer Art Festival's, frequently, staying at this hotel(area) always at SilverKing except for a three day stay one time( at Shadow Ridge a day) as Silver King was booked.

We traveled to Utah and stayed at the Silver King for the Olympics, and two Christmas's since we have lived in Seattle area the past several yrs.

Our favorite thing about the SilverKing is the availability of hot tubs in your own private room, the updated decor and most of all, probably, the indoor/outdoor year round pool and exercise/sauna rooms.

WE also reatly appreciate, this year,(new to us from last yr?) at parking garage level, the vending machines wwhich held products you may need, such as mini sewing kit or aspirin etc.!!
Also greatly appreciate the underground parking.

About all he SilverKIng needs now to be perfect, is a kitchen for room service.
HOWEVER, there are many places that deliver food and many places of great food fare are close at hand!!

Room Tip: Try to speak with actual person at the desk of the hotel, corner suites are busy outside but beauti...

We visited Park City for the first time to ski and although Silver King s not a fancy hotel, we had everything we needed. Yes it is a little dated and from what I understand is that the studios or condos are owned by different owners and the hotel just manage the rental so to speak so I guess they can varied quite a lot.....we were advised to book a deluxe so by paying an extra $20-$40 it was worth it from the reviews I've read here.....we stayed in 407.

Location:
- Perfect for skiing at Park City for you just walk across the car park and you're at the slopes!
- Very close to Main Street & Park Ave where most restaurants are, and there're hotel shuttles that can take & bring you back for free (very good service - Bill & Kevin), otherwise public buses are free and runs very frequently

Service:
- We arrived around 3pm and none of the young girls at the front seemed to know what they were doing, really a bit wired....then service changed at night with professional service, so don't know why they have these girls during the day...Jacquelyn is super helpful, caring, and very personable! Also Garry the manager is excellent too! They really looked after us during our stay especially with our late night departure!

Room Tip: 407 was nice & quiet!

We stayed at the place two nights in September, on a grand tour of Utah. Not being ski season, we expected few people and a quiet stay. Indeed, there were few people. In fact, there was no one minding the Hotel. We were renting a condo. It took some time to get settled. Not a friendly place at all, totally unconcerned wit guests.

The unit we rented was OK, but somewhat dated. The hotel amenities were sparse. The location left a lot to be desired. Off-season construction hampered getting through the entrance into the underground parking. All in all, this was not what we expected from a Park City accommodation -- but then, we were thinking along the lines of Vail, where we have visited off-season. This place left something to be desired. I cannot imagine coming back.

Room Tip: Look elsewhere. Seriously.

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear you had a poor experience. All of out units are privately owned so when booking you have to take into consideration if you book a standard unit or premium unit. Our standard units are not as updated as our premiums. Our premium units are beautiful. Also note the city road construction in front of the hotel is done so this is no longer a challenge for our guests.

I was assigned unit 315, and while technically it is a one-bedroom condominium, the large bedroom has been divided into two by a closet and a barn-door type sliding glass door. The larger room partition has a king size bed and a king size television, while the smaller room partition has a queen size bed and some dresser space. With separate entrances and a second bathroom, it’s like getting two bedrooms for the price of one. Next time, I’ll bring a friend.

The living room also has a sleeper sofa (make that two friends) and a monster flat-screen high def television. If you get stuck with kitchen duty, don’t worry; the kitchen also has a small television.

The Formica kitchen and bathroom counter tops and tile floors were dated and could stand to be upgraded, but the carpet looked new, and the place was clean.

As far as the hotel amenities, they have a great indoor-outdoor pool so you can start on the inside and go for a swim under the stars. The Jacuzzi is protected from the snow, but you might get a little wind now and then. They have protected underground parking with elevator access so you don’t have to worry about transferring your luggage through the snow or digging your car out.

The location is fantastic, literally across the parking lot from the ski slopes of PCMR, but you can easily ski the Canyons or Deer Valley by catching the free town buses directly outside the front door. If you like the exercise, downtown is within walking distance, but it’s only a few minutes by bus.

Never have we received such bad service or had such a disustingly dirty room.

We were told we wouldn't need a car in Park City but when we told the front desk it was our first time in Park City and we could use a little guidance in how to get around, she barely looked up but handed us a bus map. We studied the map and asked which bus would take us to the market - she said "pink" so we asked how we would get to Main Street for restaurants - she said "green" but there was a light green and a dark green so when questioned further with a heavy sigh she explained one was lime. We asked her where we would ge tthe bus she pointed out the door. We asked someone else which direction we should be heading in. When we got to the bus stop we realized that the "pink" bus only ran every half hour and we had just missed it - we went back in and asked where the nearest car rental location was and how we would get to it - at that point she told us that the hotel had a shuttle that was free that could get us wherever we wanted to go - so much for service.

The shower had globsof hair on the walls and in the tub from the previous occupants - I won't describe what coated the walls of the toilet. We called and asjked if housekeeping could clean the bathroom before we went out - it looked the same when we got back but they said they had cleaned it - after our 4th call and being told that they had cleaned it again we got the head of house keeping up to see the hair on the wall - she apologized profusely but we were already into our 2nd day, at least now we could shower and use the bathroom. We had deliberately looked for a place with a kitchen but we weren't planning to have to clean it before using it. We didn't really use the kitchen until day 2, except for the refrigerator which was clean - we were so tired by the time we got back to the room and the lights were so dim in it we didn't realize until the next day that every surface, every plate and utensil had food on it. Some of the plates were actually stuck together with the goop. Even when the housekeeper came in while we were there once and I told her that the dishes in the dishwasher were clean, she just put the dirty ones in with it and never ran it.

And I almost forgot - we were so exhausted but when we went to climb into the beds we found crumbs and stains on the sheets and something stuck to the pillow cases. To his credit, the man at the front desk found us some clean sheets and apologized profusely - unfortunatey the sheets were too small for the bed but at least they were clean. Housekeeping never did learn how to make a bed, not one fitted sheet was actually on the mattress - just barely on the edge so they came unmade if you rolled over - even when they were the right size.

It was convenient - just a walk across the parking lot to the Lodge and the guys driving the shuttles were great - but I would never stay there again, it was by far the worst service and dirtiest place we have ever been - and we have been all over the world.

Room Tip: It wasn't the room as much as it was the incompetence of the cleaning crew

Thank you for your response. I'm very sorry for the experience you had staying with us. I'm the new GM at Silver King and I've been working hard to make sure what you experienced does not happen again! I've hired on a new Assistant Housekeeping Manager and I have been working proactively with my housekeeping staff. I'm extremely pleased with the results I have seen so far. As far as the front desk staff, I'm working with them closely as well training them on providing our guests with the best guest service possible. Again, I'm very sorry to hear about your bad experience.

This spot was very convenient for skiing Park City Mountain resort as well as enjoying the town and skiing other mountains. The pool was fun for our kids. Parking and locker storage was also reasonable. The biggest disappointment was the room, which was billed as a one-bedroom, but the rooms were barely separated by an optional pull-down screen - that is tough when you'd like quiet time away from the kids!

Thank you for your review! I'm happy to hear overall you had a great experience staying with us. I'm unsure what you are referring to about how it wasn't a true one bedroom. If a guest books a one bedroom, the bedroom will be separated by a wall and a door.

1 night spent here in the snow at the end of an amazing road trip around Utah in October. Park City is a good place to end because you can drink like normal here - no need to eat.

The hotel is very modern and classy, and we were upgraded on our arrival to a great executive room which was huge, with a great bed, jacuzzi bath and built in kitchen. All this for only £70 (great for Park City 4 Star)

Only minor probs - major roadworks outside make it near on imposible to locate the car park. (hidden round a back street and having to drive over a pavement marked only by a traffic cone). Also its a bracing 30 min walk to Main Street, although the free bus gets you there in 2 mins from right outside if you time it right.

Didnt ski, but ski lift right outside, means probably a good bet for those of that persuasion also.

Room Tip: Happy to upgrade you if quiet
