“Affordable Park City Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2011

Stayed here with my wife for our anniversary. This is a great Park city Hotel. Free Parking. Indoor pool and hot tub. Full size kitchen. For the best experience get one of the spa rooms. Full size hot tub right in the room.

Room Tip: Go for the spa room, totally worth it!

Literally across the street from pArk city ski resort, the location couldn't be better. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite, which consisted of a full kitchen, living room with LCD tv and a great leather sectional, dining area with table and seating for 8, bedroom and 2 bathrooms. The appliances were dated, but clean and functional with an almost retro fun factor. (who doesn't love the 80s?) It was very spacious and comfortable. As a family we have spent over 30 nights in many nice hotels in the last 15 months and my 11 year old daughter proclaimed this to be "the best hotel ever!" The pool area was big enough that we didn't feel crowded even while sharing it with 2 other families. There was also an oversized hot tub and small sauna that added to the fun. The parking garage was a bit Small, but there was ample Parking in an outdoor lot on the property. Service was courteous and competant. Although this is not the swankiest resort in town, it was a great value and our family loved our stay here. We will definately be back and I highly recommend it.

I stayed in a 1 bedroom studio. The front desk was very friendly, too bad the room wasn't as nice. The dust on the curtains and decorations looked like they hadn't been dusted in years. The tv didn't work, they tried to fix it but no success. So thank goodness i had a good book. Our room overlooked the pool, not so quiet. The closing time of the pool was 10 p.m., but since there is really no one manning the front desk that late, people stayed out at the pool way past the 10 p.m. closure of the pool. I left a message at the front desk for the manager to call me but never got the call.

I am sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay with us. Each of our condos are individually owned. We have been working with several of our owners to update their condos. In addition we are no longer renting out condos that do not meet our revised minimum standards.

We also have new management at Silver King and a staff dedicated to ensuring each guest has a fantastic stay. Alice, please feel free to contact me at the hotel so that we can make it up to you as this is not the type of experience we want you to remember of the Silver King Hotel.

In an effort to keep this short, I will summarize the poor, poor customer service displayed by the Silver King management during two recent stays. We booked two reservations 6 months in advance and received confirmation for specific room types on each stay. Three weeks prior to the first reservation, we were informed that the hotel was "overbooked" and we'd been moved across the street to another property. Never mind that we had a confirmed reservation and were coordinating a family gathering of 35 people with booked rooms. After firmly insisting multiple times, managment was "persuaded" to move someone else.

One month later, our second stay had similar issues. My wife checked in after having a confirmed reservation for a 3 bedroom unit. Upon check in, she found a two bedroom unit. She attempted to call the front desk but the phone didn't work. So she walked to the front desk and after many appologies and a promise that management would call her, she we told to use the 2 bedroom unit because the 3 bdrm units were booked. As of this date, some two weeks later, no call from management and no adjustment on the cost. So, she paid for a 3 bedroom and got a 2 bedroom. In addition, the fold out sofa bed had used/dirty linens still in place. Not sleeping there!

There are other huge issues with customer service that I would need pages and pages to discuss regarding staff commuication and dealings with the group planners. To keep it short, "very rude and inferred that my wife is a liar".

On top of it all, the Silver King is in need of repair and upgrading. Not the physical property it once was. I won't spend my money there with so many other options in the area.

This is definitely not what we want our guests to experience and frankly, embarassing. We have a new management team at Silver King and a staff re-dedicated to ensuring each guest has a fantastic stay. I'm sorry to hear we dropped the ball twice.

We have done upgrades in the lobby and have new flooring in the guest corridors on the main level and conference level. In the spring the remaining floors will also be seeing new flooring as well.

Ribboy58, please feel free to contact me at the hotel so that we can make it up to you as this is not the type of experience we want you to remember of the Silver King Hotel.

Location was right next to the mountain, PC Golf Course, and walking distance to everything. We utililized the pool and gym each morning. We will definitely be back.

I reserved 2 3BR/3Bath rooms. #503 & #506. We had a large group of 14 to accommodate. After some confusion with our online reservation of another property, management did their best to help us find a good proper fit for us and also gave us tickets for the alpine slide. The rooms were very nice and spacious and there was ample room for all of us. The kitchens were easy to prepare food in and the pool was a wonderful treat for the kids. The downside was that the rooms were sweltering hot. We constantly had maintenance people (who were very nice) up in the rooms trying to fix both rooms air conditioning. We asked for fans and they had none. Some lights were burned out and the power would trip in one unit. There was dust covering things, clumps of hair in the shower and no one at the front desk if you needed something. We managed and all in all it was a good 4 days of play.

Room Tip: Provide your own kitchen and bath items

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel plenty of times and its always a fun experience because the rooms (condos) are always nice. They all have a unique spin since they are privately owned. We have stayed there about 6 times and the best condos are the ones with hot tubs in the living rooms.
I think this hotel has one of the better locations, right at the bottom of main street.

Room Tip: 2 Bedrooms condo with Hot tub!
