“Nice Property but lacking... and staff needs training”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2010

The walk to our room was the longest I have ever had in a hotel. The one bedroom suite was very nice but has absolutley no storage and a very small closet. If you were here to ski I do not know where you would store your items. Also, the one bedroom suite is designed for a family. There is no place for clothes or personal items other than the one closet and one small chest in the bedroom. Lots of room and wall space but no dressers, chests or storage areas. Nicely furnished kitchen and w/d in room. Bathroom is large and has separate bath and shower with dual vanities. Upon check in the room was very warm. Called front desk and found out the AC was broken. They could have told us at check in. Requested a fan and was told they did not have any but one was delivered fairly quickly. Bathroom light was burned out and phone did not work in master. The room service is horrible. Out of numerous meals delivered over four days only one meal was correct. Server broke glassware all over table and carpet on first morning then never delivered replacement food to room until I called the GM. Staff appears to be very young and lacking in training for a 5 star resort property. Spa had fabulous services but the massage and facial rooms are located below the fitness center. So while enjoying your $200 facial or massage you must listen to the constant banging on the floor over you while people run or work out on the equipment. Spa manager would not even come out to talk to me and the girl at the desk acted like they had never heard this complaint before. Surprising, considering the therapist began to express her apologies as soon as the guest running above us began his workout. She said it was a bad design of the spa layout. Somebody failed to look at the architectural drawings before building! Spruce restaurant was very expensive. Service in the restaurant was excellent while quality was just ok.I think this property has a lot to offer if they get it together, hire more staff and train them better.

My husband and I spent 5 nights in July at the beautiful and luxurious Waldorf Astoria in Park City and had a fabulous time! We were excited to stay at such a legendary hotel as the Waldorf Astoria, and it definitely lived up to its famous name!

The service from the front desk, to the concierge was 5 stars all the way, and we were made to feel like we were special. You can't really tell from the outside how wonderful this hotel is, but once you get inside, it is simply beautiful, with the crystal chandeliers and large fireplace that welcomes you. Our one bedroom suite was equally impressive with
beautiful and comfortable furnishings, and we had 2 balconies that overlooked the mountains at the Canyons resort area.

The swimming pool area was equally impressive with a heated pool that stayed open late, 2 large jacuzzis, and a large gas firepit with seating around it for nighttime enjoyment.

Our rate also included breakfast at their restaurant Spruce, and it was a memorable start to each day. Their daily specialty coffees were wonderful, and my personal favorite was the breakfast beignets with 2 sauces!

It is a very luxurious yet comfortable hotel, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone going to Park City!

We have traveled around the world and stayed at many fine places. This might be the best place I've ever stayed. We booked a one-bedroom suite for four nights on the "Best of Park City" special, receiving $200 in resort credit for the stay. The place seemed brand new and is sparkling clean. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Our suite was sparkling clean, contemporary, and loaded with all kinds of amenities and features - most of which we didn't need or use but were cool anyway. There was a full kitchen with stainless steel Viking commercial appliances - refrigerator, gas stove and dishwasher, garbage disposal and microwave. The kitchen had pots, pans, bowls, glasses, utensils, blender, toaster, mixer, coffee maker, dishes, glasses, towels...everything! There was a full dining area for six and a counter/bar for three. The large living room had an HDTV, sofa, chair, and a built-in fireplace with wall timer switch. The bedroom was huge and the bed was plush and comfy, with large, overstuffed pillows. The gigantic bathroom had a large whirlpool and equally large walk-in shower plus dual vanities and footlights. Several personal care products were provided.

The wife went to the spa and gave glowing reports. The restaurant is called Spruce and it is fancy and high-priced.

The only glitches were trying to get an early check in didn't work out and one staff member was a bit precocious about it, but for the most part the staff was good. Also, our suite was a terribly long walk from the lobby - probably the longest I've ever had in a hotel property. Also valet parking is the ONLY option at the facility. You pay a $25 daily resort fee which includes the parking.

From the outside, the facility appears to be a mountain lodge sort of property, but when you walk in the front door, there's almost a regal air about it. There is absolutely no clutter, everything is in its place, and everything is sparkling clean.

I have stayed at many properties in many places. I don't think I've had an experience like I had when I walked in the door of the suite at the Waldorf Park City. I was completely blown away by the quality and amenities. WOW! I am sure this place is much more expensive during the winter ski season, but we really enjoyed our summer visit and would recommend this place to anyone.

We got a smoking hot deal on the Waldorf Astoria even with the $25/day "resort fee" and absolutly loved our experience. We also had the small room overlooking the driveway but the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever been in and the bathroom was to die for. The service was exquisite and attentive. Our toilet broke, was repaired instantly and the general manager phoned to make sure all was well. We felt pampered and spoiled by all the great service. We used the shuttle to town for dinner and were picked up and returned promptly.

These are the most incredible rooms I've ever seen in a hotel. We were in a one bedroom suite - full kitchen, beautifully laidout, Viking appliances and everything you would need to be comfortable for a very long time. Two fireplaces, bedroom with very comfortable king bed, two bathrooms - and even a washer & dryer. The first time I've done laundry on my vacation! Great pool area - very large with plenty of lounges. Dinner at Spruce was excellent - the trio of sorbets and beignets for dessert were awesome. Absolutely did not want to leave. We've already booked for a full week next year. Can't wait to go back.

The property is what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Excellent service, tasteful decor, great pool and workout rooms, and friendly staff. We also enjoyed the convenient access to The Canyons and local hiking and mountain biking trails.
