“Absolutely Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2009

My husband and I stayed at the Dakota Mountain Lodge for our anniversary. We could not have picked a better place. We booked a package that included massages, breakfast, dinner and our beautiful room. You walk into the lobby and realize you are in for a real treat. The hotel is gorgeous! We had wonderful massages, the best dinner we have ever eaten and one of the most enjoyable weekends possible. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean and stacked with all amenities, and the staff was helpful and courteous. By far our favorite part was the delicious food at the Spruce Restaurant. My beef short rib melted in my mouth and the pork tenderloin was excellent. We would definitely stay at this hotel again and plan to!

We stayed five nights in early August and found this to be a truly luxurious hotel with very friendly, helpful service. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay a wonderful one. We usually do not care for full service hotels because we prefer to get our own ice and park our own car, but this hotel made everything so easy that it was a pleasure. Previous reviewers have mentioned the exquisite decor, the fully equipped kitchens with Viking appliances and the lovely swimming pool. We found the Golden Door Spa to be wonderful as well and were pleased to participate in the trial run before the official spa opening.

As with any new hotel, there were some issues that needed to be addressed, but this hotel did everything they could to make things right. We heartily recommend the Dakota Mountain Lodge and Spa and would definitely return if we are in the area.

My husband and I stayed here for one night and we were very pleased with the accommodations and service. The gym was great! We used the pool and the service was excellent - plenty of towels for use. Note there is a $25 resort fee per room per night which include use of the high speed internet, pool, gym and valet parking. The Caynons area is very nice - away from the hustle of downtown Park City. The room was very comfortable, with fireplace and flatscreen TV.

We will return to the resort when we have more time to enjoy the area.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the "Dakota Mountain Lodge." The staff was very friendly. The guy who checked us in was very helpful and the concierge was fantastic. The room was nice--we especially enjoyed the fireplace and big screen television. The drawers in the room were kind of funny looking, but other than that the rooms were very nice. The pool area/firepit/jacuzzis was also a nice, relaxing place to hang out. We would highly recommend this hotel--it also be great in the winter for skiiers/snowboarders!

The Park City area has no shortage of first-rate lodging, but the new Dakota Lodge is a gem. Our room included a wonderfully comfortable bed, two full bathrooms, two fireplaces, two big-screen HD televisions, and an incredible fully-equipped kitchen with Viking appliances. The furnishings are tasteful and the view was terrific -- even in the off-season. The Spruce restaurant bar has an impressive selection of single malt Scotch and bourbon, including bourbons that I have difficulty finding in Kentucky.

The best characteristic of the Dakota, however, was the quality of service. Gloria, the concierge, arranged for their pastry chef to prepare a birthday cake for my wife over the weekend and have it delivered with breakfast Monday morning. Jon and Becca at the front desk also went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one. I'm usually a tough critic of hotels, but this is an exceptional property.

My husband and I stayed at the Dakota prior to its official opening day. We had a great duplex room with a full kitchen, washer/dryer and bath with shower and jacuzzi. The style is contemporary for the Waldorf brand (unlike what you think of while envisioning the Waldorf Astoria in NYC), but also very fitting for the area.

The pool is heated and fabulous, flanked by two large whirlpools. The location can't be beat, halfway between Olympic Park and Park City proper. It's close to shopping and right in the Canyons area for skiing, hiking and biking.

The young staff is eager to please and dedicated to serving the customer.

My wife and I visited the Dakota Mountain Lodge just prior to its grand opening on 29 July 2009. The restaurant and spa were just about to be opened. The young and enthusiastic staff were working very effectively as a team to prepare the hotel for the first main arrival of guests. These preparations were being overseen by a high-profile management team who welcomed our own suggestions for a few minor improvements. Staff were clearly keen to ensure that everything was absolutely perfect. Despite the busy atmosphere, we found all staff to be exceptionally welcoming, caring and helpful.

The hotel's interior is very tastefully decorated throughout and aesthetically pleasing. The lobby is immediately impressive. Our bedroom was particularly comfortable, with high-quality furnishings and bedding and careful attention to detail. The room was very well lit and the switch-controlled gas flame fire added a final touch of luxury. Having the morning sun on our balcony was particularly pleasant. Outside, the well-planted garden area was just being finalised. The pool and hot tub were excellent and surrounded by a spacious area containing luxurious couches, sunbeds and shaded tables. Everything was beautifully designed and well maintained.

The hotel is situated away from the noise and bustle of central Park City but is within easy travelling distance. There are many excellent hiking and biking trails close by, with ready access to chairlifts and gondolas. The hotel must be amazing in winter !

We have stayed in many hotels throughout Europe and the US. We would say that we found the quality of accommodation and service provided by the Dakota Mountain Lodge to be truly outstanding. We look forward to paying a return visit as soon as possible.
