“Affordable hotel within a short-drive to 3 ski resorts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2012

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Kimball Junction/Park City during our week long stay over New Years. The hotel is exceptionally affordable and is a short and easy drive from three ski resorts as well as downtown Park City. The hotel is next door to a WalMart and across the street are two grocery stores (including a Whole Foods), the state liquor store as well as a ton of small shops and restaurants. The hotel is the typical Hampton Inn - clean, safe, affordable and provide hot coffee all day long!

The only dissapointment was that we paid extra to get a room with a small kitchenette. The kitchette had a small stove top of which the large burner didn't work for most of our stay despite asking management twice to fix it. Also, the cooking "utensils" that the hotel supplied were pathetic for a Hampton Inn - A very small sauce pan and a very small skillet were it! The. These pans weren't enough to cook spaghetti in and barely allowed us to scamble eggs in the morning. Also, no knives (other than a dinner knife) were provided. As such, we did a lot of "pre cooked meals" from the nearby grocery stores and used the hotels cutlery to eat it. Also, no oven was provided but a really nice large fridge and freezer. That being said, definitely plan to stay here the next time we are in Park City - we will plan to pack a few kitchen utensils unless the hotel hears my pleas and upgrades the pans provided.

Great to hear that, overall, you enjoyed your stay. I am very disappointed to hear you had trouble with one of the burners on the stove. I dont recall ever hearing about a problem over New Years and I would like to apologize that the message was not relayed to me. I definitely take every complaint seriously and it is our goal to resolve every single issue. I am sorry that this did not get resolved! Please feel free to contact me directly if you would like to discuss it further at melissa.smith5@hilton.com

Thank you for the suggestions for our kitchens. I hear you! We are in the process of buying some new items that will help make cooking easier.

Thanks again, and regards,
Melissa Smith

Despite not being "in town" this hotel is easy to stay at for a skiier not looking for the swanky atmosphere of the on-hill resorts. Parking here was free and a quick and easy drive to PC resorts where parking was also free. No hassle! Clean, well maintained and remodeled. Free breakfast is always a bonus for budget watchers. Rooms had plenty of space and extra places to hang up damp ski clothes. The only minor complaint we had was when asking for restaurant and "things to do" (besides skiing) recommendations, the front desk staff didn't seem to have any. They referred to brochures and local tourism magazines.

If You want to try out some different ski resorts in salt lake city and do it on a budget. This is the place, central to all of them and only a few minuets driving time.

Stayed four nights in December 2011. Overall nice hotel, good location about 10-15 mins to downtown Park City. In an area with a lot of shops and restaurants nearby. Room was nice, however ask for a non-smoking floor. Good breakfast buffet and free wifi. Overall we would stay here again, it's a great value for the money.

Room Tip: ask for non smoking floor

Stayed here 3 nights, upgraded to a suite. Very comfortable bed. The free breakfast has several selections. Great location for shopping and quick access to the freeway.

We stayed here at the end of August 2011,last summer during our Yellowstone vacation trip back home. So , we booked to stay here for couple days before heading back home to California as we travel by car. We have never been park city and this hotel before so we were a little anxious if we would enjoy this place or not. But , it did not disappoint us. The hampton Inn in Park city located right off the Freeway but you won't hear the noise at all. The moment we walked into the hotel, we felt comfortable right away as we have stayed other Hampton Inn before at other places. We got the same expectations as any other hampton Inn by Hilton: very nice customer services, the staffs are always ready to respond our needs or questions with a smile. My boys love the indoor swimming pool that they want to jump into it as soon as they get into the hotel. The beds are comfortable as usual, very clean. My favorite place is to use their gym. Eventhought, it is small gym but I got evrything i need (treadmill, eliptical, tv, weigths etc..) The free breakfast is good which included hot breafast such as self make waffles, scramble eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, hasbrown etc.. beside many other choisces like bagles, toasts, muffins... drinks : coffee, orange, apple juices, yogurts,,,Well, I think it is much better than other hotel that provide free breakfast but did not have as manyas variety as this place..The Park City is a very pretty small town with upscale downtown shopping and dining places but you also get some cheap , good foods and reaturant aorund ,too. What we enjoyed the most was Park city Ski resort in summer that have different activities that gret for all ages such as zipline, Alpine slide,Alpine Coaster, children can play trompoline, mini gofl course, carasouel, train ride, bounce house and slie.....with one day very cheap pass($72.00 /day per person, children under 10 is about $54/day to do all these activities above) We difinitely will come back to this place in summer again and staying the same this Hampton Inn.

Room Tip: Staying higher level floor is recommended.

Got a really good rate on a room, so stayed here for a weekend of skiing in PC. Was happy with the decision. The hotel is well kept, rooms and bathrooms are clean (and look like they were relatively recently renovated), and staff is generally friendly. The free breakfast is only so-so as is the free coffee. The eggs in particular are not so great. After the first day I skipped the breakfast. However, the breakfast is free so I wasn't expecting much and at the rate that I paid, its still a good value. Free wi-fi is a plus. Lots of free parking out front.
It is about a 10 minute drive to Canyons, 15 to PCMR and 20 to Deer Valley. Convenient proximity to the 80 freeway, outlet stores and restaurants.
