“Clean motel with friendly service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2011

We stayed at the Purple Sage Inn for one night.

On arriving we had a warm welcome and they had good advice on places to go for dinner.

The room was clean, comfortable and we slept well.

The motel is not too far from Bryce Canyon, but you would not want to be driving back and forth too often.

The Purple Sage Motel is great value and the rooms are very clean. Beds are comfortable and the bathroom fixtures in our room were new. The rooms had been recently painted. The motel is dated and the outside is in need of some clean-up and paint. Our door was peeling, the lock was not the most effective, and the windows were single pain - letting in noise and, in winter, likely cold! To be fair, we were there in March when not many places in town are open and winter is only just ending so it could be better in the summer months. There are some newer places out at Bryce Canyon if that's your destination.

This motel was very clean and we had everything we wanted. The owner was so nice and told us many places to go that we would normally would not have known about. The town is so quaint and quiet and very close to Bryce and Cedar Breaks Monument a jewel in its self with no crowds. We stayed three nights here and was very impressed.

So, I've stayed here before, and this time wasn't as good as the last (around 3 years ago). The person who took my reservation acted as though my wanting a room was a major imposition, and the person who checked me in (same guy?) seemed like he was indifferent to whether I stayed there or not. The room was clean, spacious and neat; internet service was kinda slow (average for small town in the sticks). I was on the bottom floor, and could hear every footstep and creak from the rooms above me all night.
Now, I don't expect to be greeted like long lost family when I check in, but a little courtesy and friendliness goes a huge way to determining how well I like the place. All in all, not a nasty place to spend a night, but I'll be looking for other places to stay when I'm passing through the area.

We spent 1 night at this small older motel in Panguitch, UT while exploring the National Parks in the area. There were 3 couples that planned this trip last October and checked the Internet and several reviews and this motel seemed ideal - good reviews and reasonable prices. However, when we arrived we were dismayed to find that it was quite old with very small rooms. They were recently redecorated but you can only do so much with an old building with old wiring, etc. The free WiFi required entering a 20 digit and letter code that only 1 couple bothered with. The desk person recommended a restaurant that had poor service and overcooked meals.

This not what we expected - it was not charming and friendly. We were glad we were only there 1 night. Next time we will stay in a larger city with more choices of motels and hotels. This was cheaper than some we have stayed in on this 2-week holiday but not that much cheaper.

Although it's not the cheapest motel (we paid 77$ tax included), you get what you paid for. The room is big, super clean, the bed was amazing and it's very close to Bryce Canyon NP. But for our second night, we found cheaper (61$ tax included) at the Blue Pine motel, with a queen bed BUT a fridge + a microwave (which you don't have in the purple sage motel).

My friend and I stayed at the Purple Sage motel for 3 nights. The motel is very clean, plenty of hot water, coffee maker, large ice bin outside. The owners great, it is convenient to Bryce and Panquitch lake. Small quiet pleasant town with friendly people.
