Surprised at the stylish eat-in atmosphere, we were ready for take out only. The shrimp bowl and teriyaki chicken bowls were delicious; the rumbi rice and the sauces were just sweet enough but not too intense. The prices seemed normal and our half portions were generous and not overly filling. Then there was the pineapple upside down cake, which again was just the right sweetness.
Though the cafe was quite busy, the servers were exceptionally friendly and took time to brief us about their food, visit, and offer alternate driving routes back to our home in the Midwest. We could see the chefs cooking and it was very appetizing.
Next to an eye-sore empty but box-filled store, perhaps Rumbi can persuade their building owner to acquire some attractive window coverings to improve the neighborhood.
With plenty of parking, Rumbi is busy and quick but tasty and relaxing. Optional perimeter bar table seating is fun and the decor fresh and colorful. We're thinking about a trip to Hawaii.....
