“Second stay here and will be back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2010

Aside from the parking, I really like this place. This trip, I had a street side room, it was a little noisier than room in the back (with no view) from the last trip. Only complaint was exceptionally slow internet service the night I was there. Gave me an excuse to shut down the laptop and go find a restaurant (great new Mexican place about a block north)

This hotel was very nice. Rooms were average size, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms and linen. We were in room 820 and the view of the mountains were spectacular! The breakfast in the morning consisted of hot waffles, fresh coffee, an assortment of some of the best donuts I ever tasted and a different selection of hot foods (omelets, french toast sticks,etc.).
The staff was wonderful as we came in from out of state for a wedding and they were helpful in car services, directions and different questions about the area. Troy, and Staci and Briann were very nice!

Saturdays in Ogden there is a Farmers market and it is not to be missed!

If staying in the Ogdn area, the Hampton Suites is a very good choice to stay at!

Hotel was around 1 hour from the airport.
Rooms where really nice and clean (Although i stayed in room 213, which had a streetlight right outside the window! I hung extra blankets up to stop the light coming through)
Hotel was situated in the middle of Ogden, Bed was quite comfy, and bathroom was good.
Hotel had free wifi, and free breakfast. Breakfast was very basic, so ate at subway most days (Opposite hotel)
Over all the hotel was great, staff friendly, would stay again

We were in Ogden for three nights while visiting family in the area. The Hampton Inn is very conveniently located in the downtown area, connected to the Convention Center. The hotel is not your typical Hampton Inn - very upscale with a beautiful lobby area and art deco furnishings in the rooms. While parking is in a designated section of the garage about 1/2 block away, it is not at all inconvenient. There is an unloading/loading area marked off in the front of the Hotel for checkin and checkout. Ogden has done a great deal to improve the downtown area with shops, restaurants and activities - not the least bit scarey as mentioned in other reviews. The staff was very helpful and recommended an excellent restaurant for a late breakfast - Karens Far West Cafe - about two blocks away. There was also a very welcome display of ice water in the lobby on the very hot days - the manager was very helpful in telling me where she had purchased it. I would recommend this hotel very highly to anyone visiting the Ogden area.

After reading other reviews I thought I'll comment. Stayed here for 3 nights with a friend in May for Ogden marathon. Like other Hampton Inn's, this hotel is very nice, clean, great location, great staff, nothing to complain about. Parking is little tough though. You have to park either on the road or parking garage which is about 3 minute walk around the back of the building. There are 2 tatoo shops and a club near by. Saw some bikers hanging out but they don't bother no one. Also, there were some kids hanging out near the club too.. not scary.. Ogden seems like a great little town, I found the locals to be very helpful and nice. you better like chinese and mexican food though, plenty of those..

Thank you for your very positive comments about our hotel and the downtown area of our city, we find it encouraging when our hidden treasures are appreciated. Although our parking is a block away from the hotel, it is covered and secure. There is a security company that checks on it as well as the local police department.

Very surprised but happy with this hotel . . .very clean and nice room. Had made reservations in advance using Hilton Honors points, so we didn't know what we were getting. Parking was a pain, as it was raining and very cold when we checked in. Luckily we had heavy coats and hats that we could put on before we walked from the parking garage to the hotel. Directions regarding parking were confusing and we weren't sure if we had parked in the right spot. Just a few places open to eat when we got into town--we chose Subway around the corner. We didn't find the area dodgy at all, in fact, we enjoyed walking around the area where the movie theater was and could see the huge temple off in the background. There was a fire pit going outside of a restaurant that we Floridians got funny pics of us in coats (in June!) in front of. Ogden seemed OK, pretty location.

We appreciate your comments regarding our hotel and the downtown area. We are very proud of our unique hotel and the historic value it holds. The Junction is a great neighbor in our Downtown Area and the views of the area are wonderful. June was an unusually cool month for us this year, so we are glad you brought warm clothing.

I had read that this hotel was odd, that the area was dicey, and that the parking was across the street. I was a little nervous, but I like unique places, so I went ahead and booked the reservations. When I turned off the freeway, I saw lots of scary characters, 2 of whom were in a car stopped on the side of the road in a lane of traffic... kept driving toward the hotel and kept seeing more scary sights and people. I got such a bad feeling that I turned around, canceled the reservations, and went on to the next Hampton Inn in the next town. So glad I did. It may be a good hotel, but the area was downright frightening. Spend the extra $20 and go to the next town to feel safe and secure.

Thank you for taking the time to post an impression of our area. We are in the heart of downtown and like downtowns in all cities; it sometimes takes looking past the obvious to fully see what is there. We understand that you experienced some uncomfortable moments, we do when we travel to other places. Our community has worked diligently to renovate our downtown, and we are enamored with the unique history and wonderful community that we live and work in. Our hotel alone has a historic background that makes it a unique experience; it is unlike any Hampton you will ever see.

Always, it is best to go with your instincts and listen to you inner warnings. However, you missed an opportunity to visit our hotel, one of three major hotels in the downtown area. Across the street from our Hampton Inn & Suites is the Junction, a High Adventure and Family Recreation Center, filled with first rate restaurants, 13 screen theater, family arcade, a bowling alley, miniature golf, Gold’s Gym, ifly, Flowrider, etc. Next to that is the Children’s Museum. One block away is our historic district with eclectic shops, a brew pub, and a variety of ethnic restaurants, art galleries and historic museums.

We hope you will reconsider and visit us again in the future.
