“Great Hotel, friendly staff, easy access”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2007

Stayed over here on our way to Oregon from mid-west. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and willing to answer all our questions about the area - even at midnight. Pool was already closed but hotel next door is owned by same as CS, and open all night. Left before breakfast, but menu seemed extensive. Easy access from highway. Two queen bed w/ sofa room was more than large enough for our family of 2 adults and 2 tweens. Room was quiet and couldn't hear parking lot or highway. Would stay again and hope to be able to soon.

Very nice hotel. Restaurant attached is good, and the breakfast is above average with scrambled eggs/sausage/potatoes in addition to the usual fare.
We were traveling and didn't know where we would stop, so didn't have a chance to make reservations. When I checked in, I was quoted an AARP rate of almost $100. When I got to the room and turned on my laptop, it opened to the hotel website. Out of curiosity, I checked the rate and found that the quoted rate was $80. I immediately went to the desk to discuss it and was told it was their policy, and the only way to get that rate was over the internet. I offered to check out and make the reservation from my laptop, but was told I'd get charged for half a day. Finally the rate was reduced, but not to the internet rate. Moral: Fire up your laptop in the lobby using their wifi and make your reservation and save some $$. In addition, the first room assigned had been sprayed with so much deoderant we had to move to a different room.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2006

My seventy-three year old mother and I stayed at eight different hotels in fifteen nights, and almost all of them were fantastic (thanks in part to reading reviews from fellow travelers at TripAdvisor). We had originally made reservations to stay at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites, but they had overbooked and asked if we would not mind staying at the Comfort Suites Hotel for the same price. It was only for one night, so I said that was fine.

The hotel was across the parking lot, so it was not far to go. We stayed on the second floor in Room 239, and were initially impressed with the room. It had separate sleeping and sitting areas, with two beds, a clock radio, a closet, two chairs, a couch, two tables, a large older model television with remote, and an iron and ironing board. The kitchen area included a sink, coffeemaker, microwave, and refrigerator. We also had a beautiful view of the mountains from our hotel room window.

The bathroom was very large, with a sink, four sets of towels, a hairdryer, one bottle of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. However, the floor was cracked, the shower and tub had mildew stains, and the showerhead had lime stains. Also, the toilet was very noisy, and we could hear the toilet from the next hotel room.

The hotel lobby had a bit of a South West flavor to it, and had a gift/snack shop, an Internet station, two elevators, a pool table, a couple of sofas, and complimentary coffee. Upon check-in, we were given coupons for a free complimentary continental breakfast at Cactus Reds Restaurant, which was attached to the hotel.

After taxes, the American Automobile Association room rate for the night of Wednesday, August 9th, 2006, came to $75.95 U.S. Funds. Overall, the room at the Comfort Suites Hotel was fine, other than the bathroom, and we rated it near the middle of the ones we stayed at.

Ogden is always our stopping point when traveling between Colorado and WA state and we always stay at Comfort Suites. It is aging but is still a less expensive place to stay and quite sufficient for our family. The restaurant attached has food that is good, the free shrimp cocktail was a bit lame, but hey, it was free. Kids liked the pool, it had warm water. There's a play area for younger kids outside. We didn't attend the "social gathering" they had for guests from 6-7 but that was new. Breakfast is kind of in a cramped area of the restaurant but it was...sufficient. First place they "asked" for a tip which I don't like. We'll probably stay here again, although they're due for new carpet.

Stayed here last week. The room was spacious, clean with good lighting. Great rates for seniors/AAA.
The breakfast had good choices. Hot and/or cold dishes.
I recommend this hotel

Friendly staff and decent rate, but starting to show age. We stayed here one year ago and it seemed almost new. This trip the carpet, furniture, etc. is showing wear. Overall, we recommend it, but it's nothing to write home about.

We stayed one night on our way north to YNP. Ideal location with a room we could get 6 of us into. Clean and friendly. We thought it was good value for money with breakfast included.
