“How 'neighborhood eatery' should look ;)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

Yes, off the beaten path, this nice re-do of a service station is a shining example of what a neighborhood eatery should be like...appropriately scaled, adequate facilities and a nice re-use of a building. Refreshingly attractive and the food is good. We enjoyed a nice breakfast (and open on SUNDAY in Utah...what a novel concept!) They have an attractive meeting room- if locals were searching for a place to have a meeting or retreat session, it would be perfect for a group of up to 20-25...downstairs from the main serving area. I'd encourage the staff to add a special to augment their menu...might quell those that find them predictable.

“Not sure why everyone loves this place”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

This restaurant is always busy but I can't understand why. The food is average at best, and really needs more variety. I think the hype has more to do with the fact that it is a new place, the building has been restored beautifully and is historical, and its near the canyon. The tables are rather crowded and no sense of privacy. The potatoes that are included with every breakfast aren't that tasty, make better at home. Also don't feel it offers good options for children. I will stick to Angie's.

“Best Breakfast, AND OPEN ON SUNDAYS!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

This place is an absolute must if you are staying in Logan or heading through the canyon towards Wyoming. Although the menu is diner-inspired, the items feature fresher and more unique ingredients than your typical diner fare. I highly recommend the french toast with berries and nuts--not your standard french toast at all. Eggs are always cooked perfectly. Coffee is never burnt and they keep it coming. There are no sticky booths or stained countertops at this roadside stop, decor is pretty, with painted aluminum tables and chairs and hardwood floors and "biker" memorabilia. Staff are clean, fresh, happy folks. They know how to manage crowds and busy mornings really well, too, AND THEY ARE OPEN ON SUNDAYS!

“The kind of great breakfast I've searched for the last 12 years”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013 via mobile

I have been searching for a reataurant that served a great breakfast ever since moving from So Cal 12 years ago. I finally found it at Herm's today.

In Ventura, California Pete's Breakfast House has a long faithful line of customers waiting outside patiently every weekend because the food is so good. Pete's was shown on Food Network. Their omlelets are fantastic.

Today at Herm's I ordered the Cowboy skillet. I am not normally a skillet fan, but the ingredients lured me to try it. It was a festival of tastes. It had not been cooked all together but instead each ingredient was cooked to perfection and then layered into the skillet. The sliced potatoes were seasoned and cooked crispy. The steak was cooked medium rare and was tender and flavorful. There was asparagus also cooked perfectly and slices of ripe avocado. On top was a beautiful egg.

In addition to this was something Utah restaurants are not know for: good coffee. All this at the old mouth of Logan Canyon.

“Excellent breakfast and lunch off the beaten path.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

My friends and I really enjoyed breakfast at Herm's Inn on our first visit...so much so that we went back the next day for lunch. Breakfast was simple food, but done really well. Our eggs were cooked perfectly, and their French toast is really unique. I had a salad on our second visit. I really appreciated the freshness of the ingredients, and the house made dressing was tasty. The salad was a large portion, I took part of it home with me and ate it the next day. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was fun.
