“Why do they serve only green, hard bananas?”

Quality Hotel Kanab

This hotel was convenient to Zion and Bryce national parks, which we wanted to visit. It's a very nice place in Kanab, which is in the middle of nowhere. I would not stay there more than 2 days. The hotel was confortable and clean, the staff helpful and nice. The breakfast was disappointing. They had as little as possible, and served rock-hard green bananas two days in a row, so you could not eat them.

The hot tub was heavenly, and the trip to Zion wonderful. The nearby restaurants are few and not that good. It's just a VERY SMALL place, which I hesitate to call a town.

I booked this room for our group based on other positive reviews and this time, was let down a little. The front desk staff were not real efficient, the room they gave me on the 3rd floor was wide open when I went to it. Not a great feeling of security when your door is open before you get to the room and the TV is on. The room was clean, but the bathroom was not. The towel rod was barely attached to the wall, they should have had maintenance fix it before renting the room out. The pool was overrun with kids the night we were there, and the breakfast was adequate, but not great. We stayed one night and that was enough. I've stayed at other Holiday Inn Express and had nice stays, but this wasn't one of them. I think the management of this hotel is lacking.

Arrived in Kanab after visiting Bryce Canyon and found Holiday Inn Express just off the main drag through. Seemed quite new. Very busy but offered us a room with a spa bath at $119. Very comfortable, clean room. Very nice pool - under-used and welcome after a day at North Rim of Grand Canyon (75 miles away). Internet connection unsatisfactory in lobby but did not bother us. Short drive into town (interesting and plenty of places to eat and buy souvenirs). Would use again.

“Nice, Clean hotel”

Quality Hotel Kanab

My wife and I stayed here for two nights (July 4-6) as a base for visiting the various parks in the area. The rooms are clean, the staff friendly (although one woman was a bit unsure of the time zone and the differences among NV, UT and AZ) and the breakfast bar was acceptable.

We sat by the pool a few nights and were surprised to see people sitting with bottles of beer when the signs clearly state no glass around the pool. Pool, itself, was clean and was being enjoyed by a nice group of kids.

It was very hot in the area during our visit but the A/C worked perfectly and we never felt the heat while inside. Our cell phones didn't work at all inside the building and immediately outside; we had to walk about 50 feet away from the building before we got a signal.

Kanab is a small town but there is a restaurant that I have to acknowledge. The Rocking V Cafe was one of the best restaurants that I've ever been to. The food was great and the portions were large. This is a must-visit when in Kanab.

Skip Frontier Movie Town as it's just a stop on the tourist-bus route...

We stayed here at the end of June, 2007. It's the newest motel in Kanab. The breakfast was filling, the staff were pretty friendly. Our room was clean, they even gave you a choice of firm or soft pillows on our bed. Cell phone coverage was sketchy. Not much to do at night in town. They have a one-show theater, we saw Shrek 3...There is a fairly large grocery store down the road aways, they sell everything except alcohol! The strangest thing that happened was we decided to go swimming at the motel pool late in the afternoon, and there were about eight people in and around the pool and sauna of varying ages young to old. As soon as we got there we got a few curious looks from them, and then they all got up and left...to their homes in a nearby neighborhood. Very strange. All in all we would stay there again, but a refrigerator in the room would come in very handy.
