Owner description: Dinosaurs once roamed here. Their fantastic remains are still visible embedded in the rocks. Today, the mountains, desert and untamed rivers flowing in deep canyons, support an array of life. Petroglyphs hint at earlier cultures. Later, homesteaders and outlaws found refuge here. Whether your passion is science, adventure, history or scenery, Dinosaur offers much to explore.

“Good for kids to touch a dinosaur bone”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

Interesting site on a valley, where dinosaurs had been found petrified in old mud.
The site has a prcking and a visitor center. From there a shuttle is brinign you to the real site, which is enclosed on an aluminum, glass structure. Basically they digged a flank of a mountain to uncover dinosaurs.
What I found even most interesting are the traces of Fremont Culture.
Yuo can find more info at visitor center. Entry and parking fee is 10$

“Experience exceeded my expectations!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013 via mobile

The Quarry Exhibit Hall @ the Dinosaur National Monument is a MUST SEE!! Not only do you get to see the fossils you also are encouraged to touch them. Which was a huge plus for my sons, ages 10 & 7. The boys also enjoyed the interactive "find the fossil" touchscreen along with the cameras that zoomed in on the specific bone. Another huge plus is that there is a park ranger on site to answer any questions you may have.
I wish we would have had more time to spare because they actively ask for volunteers to help dig on active sites, which we would have loved to have participated in.

“Hands on experience with dinosaur remains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

We toured the visitor center and the quarry today. It was really a great experience to be able to see the bones of the dinosaurs and touch some of them. Wind was really blowing hard so we did not hike any of the trails. I would recommend this for all to see.

“Revisit of site in Utah.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

It is very interesting! However having visited the site 22 years ago also we have the impression that in these years not very muchhas changed to entice your mind. Lack of funding seem a plausible factor. Everybody is doing his utmost best, however.

“A Fabulous Wilderness Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013 via mobile

Just completed a 5 day trip with ARTA on the Yampa and Green Rivers from Deer Lodge Park to the Split Mountain take out. Great rapids, superb scenery through three distinct canyons. It is a superlative way to experience wild canyons unchanged since John Wesley Powell's expeditions (except for new rapids like Warm Springs).

Dinosaur National Monument is not just for sightseeing - it's tortured geology and rivers are meant to be experienced.
