My husband and I stayed for two days not knowing how we would like our first spa experience. Red mountain spa made it very easy to love. The surroundings are clean, calm, peaceful and friendly. There was almost too much to choose from in terms of exercise/stretch classes. We felt like we had to try everything while were there for such a short time. Next time, I would definitely try to stay at least three days. The food was really great-very healthful yet yummy. The only complaint was that the air conditioner in our room and the fan in the bathroom was a bit on the loud side.

“Camp for Adults”

Red Mountain Spa Resort

May 30, 2008

It was a choice between Red Mountain and a Backroads hiking trip, not another spa, and I decided to try something different and go here. I loved it, especially the hiking program. Everyone is very friendly and the morning hikes and communal dining table option make it easy for a solo traveler to meet people. Southern Utah is a beautiful place to hike and if you're there for more than a couple of days, make sure you take the day-trip to Zion and hike Angel's Landing. Food is good-to-excellent. However, waitstaff could use some additional training. The rooms are nice though I do agree with another reviewer's pillow comment. Spa treatments were wonderful. I will definitely go back.

I just recently returned from Red Mountain Spa, where I spent a long Memorial Day weekend soaking up the sun and enjoying the wonderful amenities the destination spa provides. It was my third visit, I have been there once before the remodel in 2004 and stayed again in 2007, when the property was recently renovated. It is a great place to mother-daughter retreats, couple's getaways and girlfriends' weekends! If you would like to take some time to find yourself and spend some alone time in the beautiful red rocks, Red Mountain is a safe, confortable palce to stay when traveling solo. There are tons of activities to do that are included in your room fee (ex. kickboxing, yoga, pilates, aqua strength, etc.) and there are daily hikes you can participate in that are also free of charge. For people who love to take advantage of the free amenities any spa offers, Red Mountain gives you many choices and allows you to not even spend a single additional dime while staying there. Of course, if you would like to do more than just what the spa offers, you can take numerous excursions and adventures. These include visiting Zion National Park, going bike riding through the Snow Canyon National Park, going horse back riding or mountain climbing...the list goes on and on and on. Although these are additional charges, they are priced decently and are always greatly organized and well-executed.

If you are looking for more than just the the typical spa experience, Red Mountain is the place to go. Not only is there tons of fun things to do, the food is tremendously delicious (and not to mention extremely healthy!) and the grounds are very comfortable and relaxing. I highly recommend this place to any spa-goer!!

Red Mountain Spa is situated in a beautiful spot, on the edge of a state park. The grounds were lovely, and the staff was eager to please.

St. George's unbridled urban sprawl is creeping towards the resort.

My greatest grievance is that the spa visually markets/suggests that the buildings they depict in their ads are the buildings you stay in. You can stay in those, but they are the Residences and cost more to rent. They're privately owned and unless you pay extra you will actually stay in a nice, but not spectacular, room. These rooms are located in much older buildings designed more like dorms. Outside each room is are old yellow lights that the resort turns on each night. You can't keep your shades open with these lights on, and if you can't keep your shades open you can't wake up to the lovely views. I unscrewed the lightbulbs.

The pillows were not good. Too spongey. Beds were comfy. Air conditioners WAY too noisy. Not Zen.

When you arrive you get a guided tour. The guide gives you raffle tickets and if she pulls your ticket you win a prize, like a free massage, etc. But not everyone wins. So you can end the tour feeling like a punished kid. Not a great way to start your stay!

Hiking program is great. Food is lovely---wine is extra. Hammocks are wonderful. And, as I said, the staff really tries hard. I loved seeing that country, and it was over all a good time.

This was my first spa vacation so I can't make any comparisons. I was very happy with the resort, accommodations, activities and food service. In the six days/five nights I was at Red Mountain Spa, I went on three Trekker 2 hikes, took a variety of health and fitness classes, worked out in the weight room, read in a hammock and had two spa treatments. I was also able to walk to Snow Canyon State Park. This is not a "ritzy" resort. It's for down-to-earth, active people who want to enjoy the gorgeous scenery and have a healthful vacation. The food was delicious and plentiful, with posted nutritional information. The spa treatments were about the same as what I can get locally, though they were more expensive. The deluxe king room was really only large enough for one person. If I'd been traveling with a companion, there wouldn't have been enough storage space for clothing and luggage for two. Also, there was only a desk chair, and not enough space for a second chair in the room. A previous reviewer mentioned there was no door to the sink/tub area. There was a pocket door between the bedroom and bathroom (at least in my room), which may not have been obvious to that writer. All in all, this was a wonderful experience and I would return in a heartbeat. I met some truly interesting people by sitting at the community table for dinners. I loved being at a place where everyone (staff and guests) was smiling all the time.
