“Oasis in the Desert!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

My husband & I stumbled upon this beautiful inn! We were on our way to a different motel and saw River Terrace Inn. It was very intriguing, so my husband stopped to see if they had any rooms available. They were very accommodating. The only regret we had was that we couldn't stay more than one night! We will be back for a extended stay next time.

We stayed at the River Terrace Inn last night for a stop at Arches National Park. I could not have been more impressed with this hotel.

Walking into the lobby we were greeted by a very friendly kind gentleman who gave us all of the information we could need, room keys and -free wifi password! There was chilled water in the lobby for weary travelers coming in from the dead heat of summer.

Upon checking out our room I found it to be the cleanest room I think I have ever stayed in. The amenities are awesome. Micro, fridge, couch and desk, second vanity and sink outside the bathroom, everything we needed and then some. The hallways are extremely clean and well maintained and have nice little touches of decor. The patio area is beautiful and it is a great place to sit and relax and watch the river run by. The pool was also very clean and well cared for.

Breakfast was the absolute icing on the cake. I have never had such an incredible free breakfast at a hotel. Cooked to order hot foods from an actual kitchen, delicious cinnamon rolls, your usual cold cereals and pasties, bacon sausage and potatoes, coffee and tea, fruits, well above and beyond your typical hotel breakfast. The service was outstanding too.

You could tell that this property is extremely well cared for by the owners and they go out of their way to provide a clean and cheerful environment. Would absolutely stay here again!!!

I will say it is a shame people have given poor reviews for their location. Do your research, look at a map, and don't give bad reviews because you didn't. It is a 40 minute drive to arches but not unreasonable and a beautiful one at that.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view!

Another one night stop on a road trip I was on. First off, the main room in the place I had in here was HUGE!!! The furniture is very old school colonial, and there is a fridge in the place. There is a surprising amount of on site amenities here, a fitness room, outdoor pool and hot tub, various indoor gathering spaces, all done with nice furnishings and such. What seems like the main floor is really the 2nd floor here, as it's a hillside property and the 1st floor has that walkout basement feel. The place had a very quiet feel about it overall, but you have to go outside from the lobby to get to your hallway. The 1st floor gathering spaces had that 80's magenta carpeting, but it worked well enough. The flooring and furnishings are where the color is in this property, the walls and doors everywhere in here are WHITE!!! The bathrooms here are massive and have the bowed out shower drapes, but they seriously need to install exhaust fans!! It is very hard to dry off after a hot shower without opening the bathroom door to let excess humidity out. My door number was 221 if I remember correctly. The room also had a walkout slider door to the front sidewalk, something I would take issue with normally, but this seemed like a very laid back, safer place for such an access from outside. The Tamerisk Restaurant is right next door for full meal service.

Room Tip: The entire hotel seemed very quiet, but ask for a rearward facing place if a parking lot view is not...

Very pleasantly surprised to find such a lovely and clean hotel tucked away in Green River, Utah ! Pillow top beds with 4 posters, super clean rooms and tons of towels as well as a bathtub. Breakfast was included and Carlos, the chef, gave us many options for the breakfast menu....French toast, pancakes, chile verde, etc. etc. plus the usual cereals, toasted bagel, etc. We were pre-5 day raft trip and enjoyed the ambience and attention to detail of this lovely hotel. Super CLEAN!!!

We've stopped here so many times we've lost count! We keep returning because of its location (just off I-70). We usually drive from San Diego non-stop (about 11 hours) en route to Moab, or to Telluride, or to Pike's Peak. You get the idea. It's as if it's an oasis in the middle of nowhere.
And the breakfasts! This is probably the number one reason we keep returning. Homemade cinnamon rolls, chorizo omelets (they'll make up any omelette you desire), granola. Etc, etc, you name it!
Reservations were handled meticulously. (Thanks, Terresa, with the oh, so mellow telephone voice!) We faced the river from the 2nd floor. At this time of year, the leaves were in full blast mode, so more of a peek-a-boo feeling. Someone was enjoying the wonderful riverside barbecue facilities the River Terrace Inn provides. Unfortunately, the wind was billowing the smoke our way, so we had to close our door to the river sounds, sigh. Oh, and the gnats, always a problem.
We've been consistently treated well by Alan. Ask him about the history of Green River and you'll be amazed to hear of the missle launches. Green River is somewhat of a ghost town, it is somewhat abandoned, to put it mildy. Alan can explain the boundary line divisions and why this came to be.
The General Manager Lana C. was working the desk the morning we left. This is a family owned property and she's part of the family. She graciously credited us 5% when she learned of a maintenance problem in our room (not so with Julie. She was more of a "Thank you for telling me, now get out of my lobby" type of personality). Our issue was resolved about an hour after we arrived, so we'll continue to remain loyal.
No longer a best kept secret, this place is a favorite of many by now. We're one of them.

Room Tip: The river view is ideal for fall, winter, and early spring. We prefer the late afternoon 'shady...

Stayed there only for one night, but this is a very nice motel. The rooms are gorgeous, very spacious, good beds, large bathroom. I had a room in the top floor with a nice view towards the river. The sunset was very nice. So if you can get a room in an upper floor towards the river, that is very nice. The motel was very clean. There is nothing to complain. I would definitely go back when I come again to this area.
The breakfast which was included in the price was also excellent. When you get into the breakfast room you are awaited by the chef and he tells you about many many choices of cooked breakfast. In addition you can eat as much as you want from the buffet. This was really great.

Room Tip: I liked the top floor - nice river view, enjoy the sunset.

This place was super. We had 2 queen beds and a queen size pull down from the wall bed. Yje beda were super comfortable! We also had a sweet balcony that overlooked the green river. Breakfast was a nice treat! This was much better than I ever expected! Highly recommended.
