My husband, dog and I stayed at the Green River Ramada over the New Year's weekend. We had looked for other hotels in the Moab/Green River area and this site was one of the only hotel/motels that offer pet rooms that are NOT automatically SMOKING rooms. Most places in the area make you stay in a smoking room if you have a pet. Not sure of the logic in that.
When we arrived the manager who checked in my husband was very nice and friendly. We were given a ground floor room by an exit door - very handy when traveling with a dog. We had a king room with a table, chairs, fridge, coffeemaker. The room was pristine. The carpet and decor isn't new, but it was just what we wanted -clean!! The bedding is well looked after and had a very clean, fresh smell and feel. The bathroom (toilet and tub/shower) was spotless. I'm not sure if I've ever been able to say that about any hotel and we've stayed at the $29 budget motels to $300 hotels in our travels.
I was a little bit disappointed the pool and hottub weren't up to temperature but the manager told me to give him an hour and the hottub would be ready. We didn't get to use the pool because it was cold - although my husband did take a traditional New Year's dip. The hottub was awesome...well needed before and after a day of traveling/walking. Having said that, there were probably less than 5 people staying the weekend and we didn't see anyone else use the hottub so demand for the pool is probably very low. I would recommend calling ahead to let them know you would like to use the hottub and pool (presumably just for the slow season).
We enjoyed the light breakfast - coffee, juice, oatmeal, breads, pastries, boiled eggs, cereal. We didn't need to use the ceiling fan but it was in good working order. The heating and air conditioning worked perfectly and quickly! We requested that our room not be serviced as we stayed two nights. This hotel was one of the FIRST to fulfill that request and NOT go into our room when not needed. Most hotels just go in anyway, even with a do not disturb sign on the door. (We like to go green and reuse towels and it only takes 30 seconds to make a bed.) We used the WiFi connection for maps, glad we brought the laptop!
We booked through the Ramada website and saved 25% for prepaying. We really got value for money! The manager was helpful and chatty and knew the driving distance to everything. This hotel is very close to National Parks such as Canyonlands, Dead Horse Point and Goblin Valley. When we go back to this part of the world, we'll definitely return to the Green River Ramada!
