“Not perfect but good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2009

This hotel is perfectly all right. Okay, so maybe the guy at the front desk could be a littler bit more friendly and breakfast isn't really much but the rooms are nice and new and the hot tub is hot enough to spend half an hour in it. All in all, it's a good place to stay if you look for a cheaper place than the hotels in Moab.

This hotel is very, very new. It looks like it just opened. We were worst-case customers who drove in late at night with few options to select anything else. But - $90/night + 13% tax is too high for this place. The pool/spa were small and over-chlorinated, shower curtain was falling off a few loops, door handles loose, toilet running, shoe marks on the walls in the stairwells, store-packaged "continental breakfast", lukewarm coffee, plus the place smells a little weird. The lobby furniture is odd and cheesy, there were two bench seats from a minivan in the lobby and a dirt bike with a flat tire parked within 2 feet of the entrance door. It looked like it hadn't moved from that location in a while.

The good things to say about it are the sheets and pillows were nice and clean and the AC worked well.

I'll assume this is representative of Ramada Inn hotels and won't be staying at another unless I'm out of options like I was in Green River, UT.

The front desk staff was the same at both check-in and check-out, leading us to believe the staff and manager are one and the same. The attitude was we have your money; you have a key to your room; don’t bother us for anything else. He was not friendly, everything seemed to be a huge imposition.

Our confirmed reservation indicated a microwave and refrigerator; neither was in the room. After notifying the front desk, we were informed that not all rooms had them. After playing 20-questions about why we needed a refrigerator, he finally agreed to move one to the room. We were also to have a bath with tub/shower combo, but only had a shower; this was because we requested a downstairs room because my husband has a disability that prohibits him from navigating steps, and that apparently automatically assigns us to a handicapped room. A review of the room showed the china coffee cups had not been cleaned. Not wanting to deal with the manager again, I simply took them to the front desk, which is behind a glass wall, and left them and picked up 2 disposable cups from the breakfast room. The room had no luggage rack, and nothing to sit a suitcase on. We had to move it on and off the bed when we needed something in it; there was no bathroom vanity either. Apparently handicapped rooms at this facility means the room is also handicapped.

If you are willing to put up with this type of attitude, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, avoid it.

The motel was clean and quiet. The desk clerk was friendly. We only stayed one night, but this would seem to be a good place to stay for daytrips into the Canyonlands.
