We made the mistake of starting the hike at 11:30am on a very warm August day. We did have plenty of water and the right clothing, boots & walking sticks... but it did take us 2 hours to hike to the falls (3 miles each way)... a lot of the trail was sandy & tough to walk in as was described and not much elevation... but still a long hike for us! BUT the falls were incredible just as people coming out said...it is well worth the hike in! But if you are novices plan on 4 hours (includes 30 min at the falls).. and take lots of water!
