“Rooms OK but customer service rather abrupt”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014

We stayed for 1 night as a school group of 45. Rooms were fine, located close to shops and restaurants. Desk staff were quite abrupt and only gave 1 key per room, even though there were 4 students staying in each. When I asked for more, as it was quite impractical, I was told that she did not have time to create more keys. 16 and 17 year old students are still paying customers! Some belongings were accidentally left behind in rooms. These were not found when I phoned the next day.

We stayed here for the Bryce Marathon. We'd usually camp or when we go with friends stay at Ruby's inn but it was sold out when we went to book. Check-in was fine, and room was fine but around 2am the air conditioner started rattling and making terrible noises. My husband couldn't sleep and therefore I couldn't sleep. I had to get up at 4am and didn't get much sleep that night. The next day we went down in the afternoon to ask if we could switch rooms. We had seen two of the rooms across from us be cleaned all day so we were pretty sure they were empty, however when we asked to switch rooms we were told the hotel was full and were told to instead "open a window". It does cool down at night but not enough to take the place of the air conditioner on top of the fact that I don't want to be waken up super early by all the noise outside. That 2nd night, like clockwork around 2am the air conditioner started to make a large rattling noise and we ended up just having turn it off and didn't sleep too well that night either. I did reach out to the hotel regarding my issues and received a fairly prompt response and they did offer to compensate me for my issues. However, a month later I haven't seen any of that hit my credit card bill. Needless to say I'm even less thrilled then I was before.

My husband and I spend a night here as part of a tour group.

The hotel room itself was clean, quiet and comfortable. There were some rather quaint shops across the street from the hotel where one could do souvenir shopping.

Food at the adjoining restaurant was fantastic!

The place looks more like a motel than a lodge. The staff is not very friendly or helpful. Too bad because it could have been a good experience. It's relatively close to the park (3 miles) and the area has some restaurants and shops. The hotel offers a rodeo at 7 pm in the summer which we missed so I cannot judge, but overall it was pretty dismal, outdated and icky.

Nice hotel, great location for visiting Bryce Canyon, rooms a bit dated but clean and fine for one or two nights, free parking right outside your room. Next to the hotel Wednesday through to Saturday evenings there is a rodeo $11 each 7 to 8.30pm so quite a nice experience. Just in front of the hotel there is a mock up of an old western road with horse riding and shop, and just over the road is Rubies hotel come shop, restaurant and ticket booth for canyon entrance pass, you can also get the shuttle bus from here into the canyon so you don't have to drive the shuttle runs every ten minuets and they were very prompt.

This Hotel was one of our favorites during our USA-trip. Beautiful and tidy room, we had a beautiful view to the forest. Restaurants are around the corner. Staying at this hotel gives you the possibility to use the facilities (pool etc.) from the neighbor hotel. Very calm and recreative surroundings, horseback riding around the corner. Very good value for money. We highly recommend and will definitely return!

PROS:
Beds are very comfortable which was great after several days of camping.
Rooms are perfectly clean.
Location is perfect: at the entrance of the Canyon and close to every night attractions and restaurants.
Free wifi worked perfectly in the room.

CONS:
Breakfast not served at the motel.
Local lodging taxes are high in Utah. Prices increase a lot.

Room Tip: Ask for a 2nd floor room if you want to sleep in the morning, as a lot of tourists get up early to g...
