“Clean, comfortable away from crowds, but minutes from park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

This is a basic, throwback, lodging experience--just what we wanted! If you want tons of amenities and a modern hotel experience, this is not your place. If you want a stay in Bryce as it used to be, this is for you. I loved the 50s-era feel of the place; it is not fancy, but it's quiet and has a local feel. We hiked all day we were there and ate every meal at the wonderful restaurant on site. If we needed anything, we asked for it and were accommodated. If you want a tourist experience, go to Ruby's Inn and fight the crowds. We wanted a place where we could get to the park in minutes (less than 10) where we could sleep in a comfortable, clean bed after hiking all day. We also wanted to stay in a place that represented the locale where Bryce was located--not a corporation's view of what this area was supposed to be like--that's exactly what we got.

Room Tip: We stayed in the main building and had a wonderful view of the sunset.

I was disappointed with my room. It was a very dark room with drab furnishings. It had one window but we had to get the drapes drawn as workers and delivery persons would be able to see in if we did not keep the drapes closed. Overall it was depressing. It is a little motel on a highway with nothing pretty to look at. Nothing is luxurious here. One very bright star at this motel is the adjoining restaurant which was very good. I would recommend staying elsewhere and eating breakfast and dinner at their restaurant. If you are on vacation to relax spend a little more money on lodging up the road.

We reserved our room the night before and we were told we could check in any time after 3:00 pm. We arrived just a little after three and were very sternly told that we could not check in before 4:00 pm. We had to sit in the lobby for another thirty minutes. We were a bit put off.

We stayed in a queen room above the restaurant. It was a small room but it was nice enough. Amenities, however, were in short supply. There was NO microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker or electric water kettle. The only ice machine is the lobby in a separate building approximately 150 yards away. During our first night we had no hot water to take a shower. The next morning I discovered that they had the hot water heater on a timer. No showers before 6:00 am or after 8:00 pm. This was really a first for me.

I could connect to their Wi-Fi, but nothing beyond that. I was told that their network is not compatible with Macs? We had to use the PC in the lobby to conduct any business via the internet.

They have a laundromat, but it is at a gas station approximately a fifth of a mile up the road.

We stayed in one of the tent campsites. It was far from the main bathroom, and away from the RV parks. It was a very pleasant stay. Bryce Canyon national park is about 10 minutes drive. The hosts were helpful. The store has many necessary things for camping.

If it weren't for the location this place would be out of business.

We called ahead to say we would be arriving around 9 pm and we and several others (not with us) were "greeted" by a tired and grumpy receptionist.

Is it too much to ask for one towel per person? Really?

The wifi was not working and our request for assistance was met with "sometimes it doesn't work".

The room was tired and a bit shabby. There is no fridge in the room, which is not the end of the world but seems to be standard in many hotels these days, certainly in this price range.

The beds were uncomfortable.

I would not stay here again unless all other hotels in the area were booked.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights as we visited Bryce NP. It was a wise choice. It is a family-run renovated old style motel, with a nearby affiliated country style restaurant. It reminded me of places my parents had taken me when I was a child. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful with info. The room itself with two double beds was on the small side, as they tend to be, but was clean and functional. Bathroom had only a bath/shower and a potty, with the sink and mirror in a separate alcove bewteen the bedroom and bathroom. no big deal !
the entry door gave us a problem as it needed a good hard push each time to open it even after you turned the key. the hotel did not offer free breakfast, so you had to walk to the nearby restaurant 50 yards away. But the food was good--downhome cooking reasonably priced, nothing terribly fancy, but everything tasty. We had two dinners and two breakfasts there, and were pleased with the service, food, portions, and prices. When my wife lost a pill box one evening there, the staff had found and saved it for her the next morning. I would recommend staying at this hotel to all my friends.

A very pleasant Motel with a delicious restaurant next to it, where you can eat the best food at breakfast, lunch or dinner, regarding food you can trust us we are French...

During the last 10 years we have stop here several times to spend the night or just for have a breakfast lunch or dinner; The quality remain the same, fresh and tasty.

The rooms are clean and comfortable even if simple.

You will enjoy to stop at Bryce Canyon Pines
