This is a basic, throwback, lodging experience--just what we wanted! If you want tons of amenities and a modern hotel experience, this is not your place. If you want a stay in Bryce as it used to be, this is for you. I loved the 50s-era feel of the place; it is not fancy, but it's quiet and has a local feel. We hiked all day we were there and ate every meal at the wonderful restaurant on site. If we needed anything, we asked for it and were accommodated. If you want a tourist experience, go to Ruby's Inn and fight the crowds. We wanted a place where we could get to the park in minutes (less than 10) where we could sleep in a comfortable, clean bed after hiking all day. We also wanted to stay in a place that represented the locale where Bryce was located--not a corporation's view of what this area was supposed to be like--that's exactly what we got.
