“Great Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

Winnie, TX doesn't have a lot of dining options that we saw other than fast food. Not wanting fast food, we opted for Al T's with it being a steakhouse. We picked it right! We all enjoyed our food. Everything from fried okra & mushrooms to steaks and salad and chicken and gumbo. It was all great! The atmosphere is clean and quaint and the staff was very friendly and offered speedy service. Thanks for a terrific lunch!!

“Very Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

We travel from Louisiana to Galveston quite often, gave Al T's a second try and were more disappointed than the first time. While the atmosphere is quaint tables are a little too cozy, our table was unfortunately located in the buffet line, we had to literally stop eating not to accidentally nudge those in line in the personal areas, if you can picture, our face directly in their rear or crotch, very uncomfortable for all. Would have requested to be moved, but waitress dropped the drinks and ran, did the same thing with the bill. Fried chicken was cold and over done, vegatables were previously frozen/canned and everything was bland. No rolls to be seen, but we were thrown a basket of crackers with the one alloted round of drinks and I must say the Land o Lakes butter was their saving grace. Hugely disappointing, no self respecting Cajun would ever serve that food, sorry Al T's.

“Good Food Every Time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

Al T's stays crowded or at least full and busy which is a good indication that the food is good. This trip was no different; we really enjoyed the food. We ordered the Al T's Special which is a good variety of the different foods that Al T's is well known for. It has enough food that two people can easily share this meal and still leave full. But, we also ordered the Taylor Bayou Catfish and if THAT wasn't enough, we also had fried Gator Tenders for an appetizer along with the delicious homemade bread they serve! We had a serious amount of food going on at our table! We enjoyed it until we were full, which didn't take long and we are having left-over's tonight for dinner...along with dessert of bread pudding which we ordered to-go! No cooking here tonight! There isn't one thing that we have had that we didn't like. To pick a favorite item from the menu would be impossible! Overall review of Al T's...would we eat here again? We WILL! Would we recommend this place? In a heartbeat! Al T's has it going on!

“Great Place for Lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

We often drive from Tampa to San Antonio to see grandchildren and always plan the trip to stop at Al T's for lunch on day 2. It can be a little busy with locals, hunters and fishermen, but the wait for a table is usually no more than 5 minutes. Once seated, services is good, even when busy. My wife loves the Cajun Baked Potato, which is a large potato smothered in Crawfish Etoufee. My favorite are the fried oysters, always plump and fried perfectly. The onion rings are hand battered and fresh. We have stopped numerous times and have never been disappointed..
