“Second time around”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2015 NEW

We went here last year for the first time, and had to make another pilgrimage this year. It's a bit of a drive, but only an hour from North Dallas or 45 minutes from the Rockwall area, and well worth the effort. NOTE: the Wills Point address can make it challenging to find (Yelp & GPS failed to pinpoint the location: it is < 1/4 mile North of I-20 on FM47 -- Exit 516 off I-20, about 10 miles East of Terrell. First right N of the service road.

A long driveway leads to the classic Texas ranch-house, once owned by Dallas Cowboy LeRoy Jordan, that current owners have transformed it into a welcoming, wonderful restaurant. EVERYTHING is made fresh and on-site, even breads and desserts. (Spoiler Alert: Do NOT skip the signature Bread Pudding!)

We ordered were Crab Cakes and Fried Oysters as appetizers. There was nothing but crab in the cakes (no fillers, etc.) and they were topped with a orange-tinged sauce. The oysters were lightly breaded and fried to perfection. Both were top of their class, and enjoyed by all. The Tomato-Onion-Mozzarella salad and the Ceasars were also very good.

For dinner, we all ended up ordering some version of their signature entree: STEAK. The meats were well-seasoned, cooked to order with wonderful sides of green beans, and the house mashed potatoes (each night there's a different version of that classic comfort food).

Although the meals leave little room for dessert, we had the home-made Bread Pudding, a chocolate mousse, and crème brulee' as 'shareables' among the eight of us. The pudding arrived on a chilled-chocolate-dressed plate to commemorate the birthday of a family member, topped with the traditional candle. Nice touch!

The food, atmosphere and service makes it easy to understand why this place draws repeat customers from as far away as Shreveport and Ft. Worth... and why, after 10 years in business with basically "zero" advertising the reservation book stays full.

We'll be back!

“Lovely Setting, Good Cocktails, Tasty Steak”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2015

Truly, the setting is probably why I will be back. Our service was good as was the food and I would eat here on a regular basis if I did not live an hour away. The blue bonnets were in bloom a couple of weeks ago and the sunset was stunning in the country setting. It is worth a look-see.

“Henry's Birthday Party”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2015

Excellent restaurant. Just as nice and good as any top steakhouse in Dallas! We were part of a party of 15 that all raved about the dinner and service. Will certainly return.

“Hidden gems - you must find it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2015

If not for a large road side sign near Dallas, we would have never known this place existed. You should find it and enjoy it for yourself. It is hidden a small drive off Interstate 20 east of Dallas. The steaks were magnificent. The atmosphere quiet. The prices very reasonable for the quality you are getting. If this place advertised more extensively, they might be packed every evening. Get there before too many people find out about this place!

“Favorite not to GO”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2015

First time to visit wwas a nightmare from the time of arrival to departure. Entrees were either over cooked or under cooked. Salads consisted of extremely dried and/or wilted vegetables. Service staff either didnt know or understand the menu and some presented a don,t care attitude.
Members of the first party said anyone can have an off night and give it another try, which was done. The second expierence was considerable worse than the first time and left well beofre the entrees were presented and vowed to never return.
Have recieved many offers by various entiities to attend functions and/or sponser functions at Four Winds but will not.
1 time is learning expierence-2 times is same on you and me. No 3rd time.
