My husband and I had a promotional coupon so we tried The Wild Mushroom because our friends raved about it. They were absolutely right--the food at this upscale western-themed restaurant is excellent. Our waitress knew the menu and chef specials inside-out. My husband had the New York Strip ($38) and I had the Scallops/Shrimp and cabbage with broccoli potatoes ($28). Since the strip steak didn't come with sides, we got the asparagus with almonds and grated parmesan and the macaroni and cheese with jalapenos and bacon ($9 each). The total bill ended up being $90+ but with the $70 Groupon it cost $20+. The food was excellent and the house specials sounded intriguing. We'll have those next time, but tonight, on this visit, we ordered off the menu. The restaurant reminded us of Bonnell's in Fort Worth, but my husband, who's a huge Bonnell's fan, actually liked this better. We will be returning soon.
