“Wonderful Peaceful Weekend Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2014

We stayed at the Southern Dream Cottage. LOVED EVERY SECOND!!!!!!! What a refreshing getaway from the rat race in the city, although I love the city. Peace and quiet. Pleasantly surprised!!! Was to check out on Sunday and did not want to. :) Lucky for us, the cottage was open for us. We got to stay another night. Staff is lovely! We had breakfast at the main house on Saturday morning. Although they did provide vouchers for the other mornings at the local cafe, we chose to do our own thing. I could not believe the expedited service that always came with a smile and you know who you are :) Lovely place! When going out of town, I would always choose to go to a restaurant. It's so peaceful, we got steaks and all the yummies and cooked on the grill. The hot tub, AWESOME! I will return!!! The cottage is adorable! Don't think the pics do justice. Sorry, Mr. Photographer. Smiles and Hugs to all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We really enjoyed our short stay in the Southern Charm Cottage. We knew it would be special when we arrived at the gate and made our way up thru the property of rolling Texas meadows and pecan trees. The big house is beautifully decorated. Our cottage was perfect for the 2 of us. We used the hot tub, grilled steaks and watched the wildlife from the screened porch & deck. It had all the amenities we needed, good fixings for our breakfasts, and just enough rustic thrown in to really feel like we were in Texas. Thank you Miss Barbara, Justin & Tyler!

This was our 3rd 5 night stay at Lillian Farms. The Rose Cottage was beautiful, comfortable, and felt like home. The staff was attentive and welcoming. We love staying with Barbara and her staff. Hope to return again in the near future.

My husband and I stayed at Lillian Farms this past weekend. What a gorgeous place...expansive fields, a pond, beautiful house and rooms! We stayed in the main house in the Longhorn Suite...it had everything (and more) we needed. Everything was very clean. The decor was right on...the room was decorated in a western theme, as the name eludes. (Other rooms had different themes.) Everything was in working order. The breakfasts were delicious! There was a wedding on site while we were there...it was lovely! The stable building was the location of the wedding reception. We toured it, and it is very spacious and well-kept. All of the grounds were immaculate! The house itself is full of very fine decor and some antiques. Barbara, the woman who owns and lives in the house, is as sweet as she can be. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The main house is very large with several rooms/suites in it. There are also individual cabins spread throughout the grounds, including one in the stable itself. There are 3 donkeys that roam the grounds and are quite friendly. We loved looking at the stars at night also. Lillian Farms is an excellent get-away from civilization, while only 10 minutes from Brenham. It has it all! We will be going back!

Room Tip: The house has very fine decor, so it is not kid-friendly. We did not see the inside of any of the c...

My wife and I stayed at the Rose Cottage and it was everything we hoped it would be. Upon arrival at the cottage we were greeted by a family of deer beautifully close to the deck with a stunning sunset backdrop. The cottage is beautifully furnished, cozy and romantic. We were able to enjoy a beautiful cool December night warming ourselves in the hot tub and next to the fireplace. The serenity found at the cottage is exactly what we needed as Houstonites looking for some time away from the hustle of city life. It was absolutely perfect and we highly recommend it. We did notice however that a new cottage is being built within sight and sound of the Rose Cottage. I'm sure the new cottage will be just as wonderful, but it does make the Rose Cottage slightly less secluded for those desiring complete privacy. Nevertheless, we've stayed at a few other B&B's in the area and even when the new cottage is completed and the Rose Cottage is slightly less private, it is by far the best place we've stayed and will still be our choice getaway.

We came to Lillian Farms based on what we saw on their website.. We were traveling with our 15-month old daughter and were happy about most things... The location was beautiful and we saw lots of deer and other animals. The Southern Charm Cottage was clean and the cottage aesthetics were amazing. The innkeeper was very friendly and the hot tub was amazing. We were only disappointed by a few things. For example, the website states that we were going to receive breakfast vouchers to a Cafe in town, however, upon arrival, we were told that we were not getting vouchers and our breakfast foods were in our refrigerator. Not sure why this happened, and weren't given an explanation. We were told that the kitchen was stocked with salt, pepper and sugar. However, upon arrival the pepper shaker was completely empty and there was no sugar- only sweet n low. The innkeeper was kind enough to send someone to bring us pepper, but was inconvenient to have to call for it. Our second night there, we had no hot water to bath or wash dishes and baby bottles. This was problematic as we had to boil water to bath our daughter in the shower. The third day we still had no hot water to bath, so my husband ended up jumping in the hot tub to clean off. The innkeeper came to our cottage after we called about lack of hot water. She flipped the circuit breaker and told us to wait 10 minutes and we'd have hot water. We waited an hour and still no hot water. She was apologetic, but it would have been good customer service to offer us some kind of compensation for the lack of hot water during our stay. Overall, we did enjoy the property and our time together as a family, but if we return we probably will not stay in the Southern Charm cottage again.

My husband surprised me with a romantic getaway weekend for our anniversary and we stayed in the Southern Charm Cottage. The cottage is very simple, but very cozy and comfortable. Ms. Barbara (owner) had the cottage set up so beautifully with red roses, chocolate covered strawberries, champagne and silver champagne flutes. My husband was very thankful for all of her help. The main house was closed for the weekend so we did not get to experience the breakfast, but we were provided with breakfast vouchers at a local diner which worked just fine for us. Additionally, Ms. Barbara still gave us a tour of the main home and we loved talking with her about the property. She is truly a lovely lady. The property is beautiful and we would love to go back in the spring.
