“Great new choice in Waco”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

This hotel is a breath of fresh air in Waco lodging. I have stayed twice (so far) and have found rooms and service to be exemplary. Only faults (minor) are lighting in the bathroom and noise generated by hardwood flooring in rooms. Wonderfully comfortable beds, linens, towels, etc. I especially appreciate the Aveda grooming products. Plus, there is a very good on-site restaurant-bar. Note that the neighborhood, although convenient to Baylor and downtown activities, is a little dicey. Nearby train traffic can be noisy in the early morning hours.

Room Tip: Request a room facing east (toward Baylor) to minimize train noise.

My fourth business trip to Waco was the best - largely thanks to the Hotel Indigo. Easy check in/out process with a friendly staff. For regular travelers, I'd compare the Indigo to the W's Aloft chain with similar hip decor and a kinda cool lobby bar area ... although the rooms here are much larger. Aveda bath products a nice touch. Very convenient to Baylor and easy to get pretty much anywhere around Waco. Only real complaint is the lack of parking as I had to invent a space two of the four nights in which I stayed here. Regardless of that, if/when I'm in Waco again - definitely will choose this property as it far exceeds other options sampled.

I stopped in for one night while driving through Waco and really enjoyed my stay. Easy check in, nice staff, great room service and loved the Aveda products in the bathroom! One issue is they do not have to-go coffee cups in the room, and no self serve coffee bar in the lobby. So to get a to-go cup of coffee, you have to ask the man at the front desk who then paws the task off on the waiter in the restaurant. It took about 5 min of waiting around and I had to ask twice (I think the waiter forgot..). Otherwise this is a nice, new contemporary feeling hotel and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Thank you for sharing your kind words with us and becoming a new guest of our Family here at the Hotel Indigo in Waco.
Being a boutique hotel all the amenities and furnishings are going to be a step above most other hotels in the area. Products like our Kurig coffee and as you noticed, the Aveda soaps, lotions and conditioners are all part of the experience you will have here as part of our effort to inspire and reinvigorate you during your stay.
With these goals in mind if you need anything call to the desk and a Manager or associate will bring to-go cups immediatley.
Your time is valuable as you are valuable to us!

Sincerely,

Daryl Barnes

We were in town to visit Baylor University with our teenage sons, and found this hotel to be an excellent choice. Great bathrooms, clean and well laid-out room. We did not use the pool, but the fitness center was wonderful. We will definitely be staying here again as our oldest will be attending the university this coming fall.

Booked this hotel instead of the local Hilton wanting to try something new on a business trip to Baylor University. While the hotel was fine (close to Baylor, modern and clean) and the room outfitted appropriately for business use, the hotel has scent infusers pumping huge amounts of perfume into the lobby. The products used to clean the rooms are also scented. If you have allergies as I do and if your allergies do not handle large amounts of additional scents added to the air, avoid this hotel. After one night I was wheezing and had to move back to the Hilton (which has been renovated and is also close to Baylor). The Hotel Indigo front desk told me that the scent policy is chain wide and that they were not allowed to turn the pumps off.

I did send feedback concerning the scent infusers to the Hotel manager and have received no response to my message.

Thank you for trying something new! Many of our Baylor Faculty, Guests, and Students Parents have been choosing something new as well and are making the change to our beautiful new and fresh Hotel Indigo, just down the street from Baylor University.
The hotel is located right in the middle of everything you would want to see and do when visiting Waco.
Just like your memories of cinnamon & nut meg around the holidays the Hotel Indigo provides a fresh and clean scent every time you enter one of our properties. The Brand has chosen to do this because it helps to create a comfortable and familiar fragrance reminding them why they love the Hotel Indigo.
Please make sure to let us know when you will be in again so that I can personally insure your room is cleaned with unscented products.

Kindest regards,

Daryl Barnes

The reviews were good for this hotel, and it's in a good location for those who want to visit Baylor or attend an athletic event. The pluses were that it's new, contemporary feeling, nicely laid out, good location, bar with restaurant onsite, and a nice back patio area for seating from the bar. The room itself was spacious and nicely laid out, with a large shower and good bathroom area.

The biggest negative was noise at night - we were there on a Tuesday night, but the noise in the room was enough to keep you up. The floors in the rooms are laminate wood, on the dark side and really look cool with the decor. However, the lack of carpet means we heard the people upstairs walking around, and there was noise in the hallways that came into the room as people went to their room from the elevator. No free breakfast either, but I can live with that.

Overall though, I would stay again, and it's location and decor is really excellent.

Room Tip: I'd try to stay away from the elevator, and maybe try the top floor to avoid noise.

If Comfort and Service are important you will be very happy with our pillow top mattresses, large rooms and showers along with upgraded amenities such as Kurig Coffee and Aveda Soaps and lotions!
The Owners chose this particular location due to its perfect proximity to Baylor University, the historical and entertainment district of Waco, as well as local parks, museums and the soon to be new Baylor Bears athletic stadium!
Being a boutique hotel we offer a full service, beautifully designed restaurant (Brazos Bistro & Lounge) where everything is made fresh daily from many local farmers and producers. The menu is very reasonably priced and enjoyed by many. Other hotels may offer a complimentary breakfast but generally consist of microwavable and powdered products.
Please do accept my apologies as we did have a large school event in that weekend which may have contributed to a little more volume in the hallways.

Kindest regards,

Very nice. Biggest shower of any hotel I've ever stayed in. Clean. Comfortable. Well kept. We stayed one night en route for vacation. Did not eat here so cannot comment on food. If staying near Waco ever again will call here first!

Large, Clean and comfortable rooms! We are very proud of our housekeeping staff!
Housekeeping without a doubt is the most difficult job in the hotel and day to day our team of ladies happily goes about making sure your rooms are spotless!
Thank you for being here and we hope you can enjoy Brazos Bistro & Lounge on your next visit!
