My review of the hotel will be short and sweet, with the majority of the time spend elaborating on the bar.......OH THE BAR!!!!

The Hotel: Clean, unique, swanky, stylish, hip, not another hotel like it in Waco. The rooms were great. I will say this, we had children in our group, and they loved the pool, but we did have one complaint, but it's a rather large one for anyone with kiddo's. There are not any in room movies to choose from!!! This struck me as very odd, the "On Demand" pay per view packages can be found at even the lowest seediest hotels. As nice and as upscale as the Indigo was, I thought for sure they would have movies for the kids to watch before bed. Nope, very disappointing!!! Other than that, a very great stay!

The Bar:

The bar is an ode to the old school cocktail!!!! That's all you need to know. Easily the best bar in Waco, and very easily the most knowledgeable bartender in Waco (Andrew) A classically trained bartender with a passion for the old school, classic cocktails that time seems to have forgotten. An homage to real drinks in my opinion. It takes a passion and a effort to learn these techniques and this style of mixology, but they have it in spades. From the unique drink menu to the off the menu specialties we requested, it was a mixology experience that has never been seen before in Waco. I am actually quite shocked that this even exists in Waco. There was a good crowd enjoying their handmade drinks, and for a hotel bar to contain a large number of locals, speaks to its quality!!!! This style of bartending and mixology are rarely seen outside of San Francisco, Chicago, New York, New Orleans, and Hong Kong, which is my I was so shocked to see it this well executed in Waco. After I knew the bartender knew exactly what he was doing, i spent the next 3 hours letting him pick the drinks he wanted to make for us. They were all spectacular one after the next. When was the last time you had a real old school "Fizz" drink made with actual egg whites???? So good!!!! After talking with Andrew, he informed me he tuned his craft in New Orleans = Makes a lot of sense!
The best thing is you are getting these unique cocktails usually found in the big city, but not at big city prices. I was astounded by the value of the experience at the end of the night when the bill arrived.

My advice to any Waconians, travelers, Baylor Alumni (like myself) or anybody stopping in Waco, Tx, Even if you don't stay at the hotel, go to teh bar and experience some of the best and most uniquely well done cocktail in the town. I've never even seen this type of quality mixology in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio or Houston!!! Give it a chance, there is nothing else like it in Waco, and in a great location!

Great Pool and Patio scene too. I am a bog cigar smoker, and if I had known how awesome the patio was, I would have brought my cigars.

We didn't try any of the food, but the menu looked stellar and I have heard many people rave about the quality of the food there.
