This is a quiant little place that is quiet and out of the way. Perfect for honeymooners and those wanting to reconnect/rekindle. It is also great for those wanting to disconnect and be emmersed in the splendor of nature.

What a relaxing getaway. The Lodges are nestled in a peaceful nook in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. The cabins are charming, cozy and very comfortable. The Treehouse was our choice and we enjoyed many hours sitting, rocking and relaxing on the porch, just listening to the sounds of the birds and wind in the trees. We were even treated to the sound of a soft rain falling on the tin roof one night. Great breakfasts delivered each morning by Jeralyn and a visit from Remy her dog made us feel right at home. It was hard to leave all this peace and beauty but we are looking forward to returning, hopefully in the near future for another delightful experience.

Cozy, comfy full-featured cabins in a small, secluded, quiet side of a hill. Lots of wildlife awesome hosts and great weather. Bring 3 pairs of clothes & shoes, (outdoors, indoors and sport specific) bug spray & repellent and a hiking pole regardless of your plans, the weather can turn on you quick. Cellphone service is limited and (thankfully) non-existent at the cabins. Your host's breakfasts are a staple and addiction in our family. Our kids can never get enough of this place! A 4WD vehicle is also a good thing to bring.

We really enjoyed it and will come back. Thank you!

The coffee cake was so tasty. The cabin was really laid out perfectly. It was quiet and comfy and had everything we needed to unwind and relax.

Thanks again. It was just what we needed. I wish we could have stayed 2 more nights.

My husband and I were able (finally!) to take a vacation in September. We are native Texans and LOVE Texas so we decided to go farther west into the Hill Country this time to refresh our spirits and unwind. We always use tripadvisor to plan our trips and we saw the Lodges mentioned there. We then booked the cabin called "The Treehouse" due to the view it described (treetop) and its location (last and away from everyone else). We arrived to find the cabin as tidy and super clean (very important to me!) as could be with a well-stocked kitchen and really adorable decorative touches throughout the cabin. The bed was very comfortable and the peace and quiet were very healing. We bought our own food before coming and so prepared our own meals except for the truly delightful breakfasts brought every morning by the gentle and gracious hostess, Jerralyn. We do not watch TV except for the news and so did not miss it. There is so much to do in this area that we found much to entertain us. There is a good backyard grill to cook on with a comfortable hammock for resting before and after. The view of the stars at night (be sure to stay up late enough to see them!) was absolutely spectacular. We are from Dallas and I have not seen stars like this since I was 5 or 6. (I am 55 now.) They were dazzling!

We found that the cabin was all we hoped for and needed for our vacation as we took in the sights at Lost Maples (the best) and Garner (over-used and filled with ugly green screen cabins--sad!), and ate the best chicken-fried steak I have ever had at the Leakey Feedlot! We had lots of picnics and hiking and the cabin and its site proved to be very central and accessible while providing the quiet and solitude that we desired.

Only one "warning": your cell phone will not work unless it is AT&T and I am not sure how well that service does there, either. We were absolutely out of reach by family and friends during this time, although they had the Lodge's main number if an emergency arose.

In a word: 100% DELIGHTFUL!

If you're looking for a quiet cabin in the country, then this place is great. I ended up staying here at the last minute after my favorite cabin was booked in Colorado (and since I live in Austin, I saved all that airfare.) The five cabins were all charming and well-decorated, and clean as could be. It's about a 10 minute drive to Lost Maples, which was just beginning to change colors when we were there on October 2-4. Jeralyn, the Lodges owner, was super friendly and helpful, although not having an office on-site for intermittent questions is the only small drawback that I can think of (and without phones in the cabins or working cell phones, you're pretty much on your own.) But Jeralyn does come by daily to drop off the wonderful breakfasts and can answer questions at that time. We stayed in the Tree House, which was farthest from the road and quiet and peaceful. Having read prior reviews, we brought groceries, which was a must because there really isn't much to eat nearby (although the Motorcyle Museum near Lost Maples has great burgers.) Plus, you traverse a winding road to get anywhere, so I wouldn't have wanted to drive after dark just for dinner. But the kitchen was well-stocked (microwave, oven, range, outdoor grills, pots, pans, etc.) so that cooking was easy and enjoyable. The cabin was stocked with DVD's and VHS tapes (but bring your own just in case they don't have what you like) and the VCR and DVD player worked well, but again, there is no tv reception so be aware. It would have been nice to have a CD player for a little music, but next time we'll just bring IPOD speakers. All in all, this is a great place to get away for a quiet weekend. If you're looking for action and fine dining, then this is not the place for you, but if you want a quiet place to read, hike, relax and spend quality time with friends and loved ones, then this is a wonderful choice. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed in the Treehouse June 12-14. It was very quiet and private (last on the road of 5 cabins).
Do not expect to be pampered and entertained here. Other than a VCR and DVD (with a selection of family movies), you must make your own fun. That was what WE were looking for, but just so you know… the closest town / restaurant is a 20 minute drive. Breakfast was delivered to our cabin at 9:30 each morning – homemade and tasty. We ate on the porch while watching the birds and squirrels eat from the feeder.
All the basic necessities were provided in the cabin, and everything was clean and in good condition. (We did not find the bed comfortable, but that’s personal preference.) If you plan ahead and bring your groceries, you could easily prepare meals in the kitchen.
We drove into Leakey (about 20 minutes -- very beautiful, scenic, and winding) and had a good, hometown lunch at the Leakey Feed Lot.
We really enjoyed our evening at the Bandera Saloon (40 minutes in the other direction). The food was very upscale, quality hometown cooking. (Sounds like an oxymoron, but it’s not). The music was great too.
We tried to eat at the TexaRita in Bandera, but it was gross.
If you’re looking to get away and have a lot of peace and quiet in a naturally stunning area of Texas, The Lodges at Lost Maples is your place.
