Here's why I gave sleep quality, rooms and cleanliness fewer than 5 stars: this is a "vintage" hotel built in the 30s and the rooms are small. The only furniture in our room was two beds and two nightstands. Nothing else would fit. The bathroom absolutely will not accommodate more than one person unless one is in the tub. The bathroom door will not open fully because it will hit the TV. The walls are not as soundproofed as those in more modern hotels. Perhaps that's why the hotel provides ear plugs. And we found a room key envelope with a dirty toothpick on the windowsill when we checked in. But I applaud those trying to preserve our heritage and we'll stay here again if we're in Van Horn at bedtime. Even if you don't stay, you should visit. It's quite a place. My photos are too large for upload but will soon be posted at www.wildgenwest.shutterfly.com
