My family and I truly enjoyed our visit to UOR. Mack and Cheryl were truly graceful and attentive to our needs. The pool was nice and hot tub relaxing. The barbque pit area was perfect with a picnic table and extra chairs. The room was super clean and cold. One suggestion would be to add mattress toppers as the beds were a little too firm for us. Breakfast was also fantastic.

We recently held our family reunion at UOR. We occupied all rooms and had entire place at our disposal so that part was great. The staff were friendly and helpful; the grounds are expansive, rolling, tree-covered native habitat. There were deer galore, hummingbirds dive-bombing the feeders all day, raccoons, squirrels, jack rabbits, and butterflies. The river which is close by has places to snorkel, swim or just take your chair and sit in the rills to enjoy your beverage of choice. The only short-comings for us were the small pool and severe lack of cellular service and cable networks. (I do like to stay in touch even when on vacay). The food was excellent and the rooms were comfortable and homey. Great get-away and perfect for our reunion.

Room Tip: I liked my upstairs room for its wood floors and better view of grounds although there is no bad roo...

My husband and I took our 2 small children (6 and 18 mo) for a week to Utopia on the River and we were extremely pleased with our visit! The rooms were very clean, the beds were comfy, the breakfasts were amazing, the surroundings were beautiful and easy to enjoy with our little ones, but best of all, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Cheryl, the innkeeper, made it a point to learn the kids' names, and everyone did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. We will definitely be back!

Quaint lovely place to stay in Utopia, Tx. We will be back. Sweet rooms, gorgeous landscape with massive cypress trees and right on the Sabinal river. We swam in the clear cool river and it was delightful. Hummingbirds and deer in abundance and the breakfast was large and really good. Loved this place.

Wonderful, quiet, relaxing place. Was incredibly clean. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was ample and filling. Deer grazing everywhere; hundreds of hummingbirds at the feeder to watch. Love, love, love it!!!

We spent three nights here and enjoyed the stay immensely. The room was large, clean and comfortable - the only complaint being the noisy air conditioning unit and refrigerator. Breakfast was very good and very generous. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The setting was great - with opportunities for early morning birding expeditions on the property. The location was ideal for exploring the hill country.

Not being familiar with the hill country, we booked this place based solely on Tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed. After spending a few days in the area, I have to believe there is nothing else around that would equal it for value, comfort and location. Highly recommended.

Peace and quiet prevails, hospitality abounds. If you like to kick back, relax and do very little, come here. Not far from the great Lost Maples State Park, or the Garner State Park. Get up before 8:30am to watch the automatic deer feeder drop the corn. ( I counted 20 deer one a.m..)
The buffet breakfast is a hardy appetizing array. The staff from Cheryl-Mac-Karyn and everyone else know how to please and respond when needed. Customer centric, satisfaction the objective.
When you get home, you;ll start thinking of "when can I go back" !!

Room Tip: Just be specific about you requirements, two double beds, one King, you have a choice.
