We stayed in the Gallery with two families (4 adults, 2 kids under 5).The main portion of the house is 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bath with plenty of space and all the amenities you could need. The house is in excellent condition with central air throughout the main floor. There is a large screened in porch with ceiling fans along the back side of the house and has views over the garden. The upstairs (The Rookery) had 6 beds, a window unit, and another bathroom and a small kitchenette. We didn't use the upstairs, but we know in the future we'll come back with other families and their kids and take advantage of the whole place.
The place was very clean and had everything you could need. All the kitchen utensils, plates, lines, towels, bath items, books, TV, etc. There is a nice charcoal grill outside and a picnic bench where we ate dinner one night. There was nothing lacking. All of the outdoor amenities were excellent too. We took the little girls out on their first boat ride in one of the row boats that the owners have for the guests use. They had everything we needed from the life jackets to the oars. It was a great experience for them and us.
Dottie and Bill were wonderful too. They are so friendly and really do care about their guests. Even us crazy folk from the city. Since the Gallery is not on the lake side of the road, you can use the pier that is behind Dottie and Bill's house. They did not mind us going back and forth between the house and the pier. There is even a neat treehouse on the pier which was fun to climb.
It was a wonderful chance for us to get away and have a relaxing weekend in touch with nature. We will definitely be back.
