This is one of those cookie-cutter motor hotels: Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn & Suites, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary anywhere on the property, and it occupies a rather drab, uninspiring spot surrounded mostly by other businesses.
The current management is my main complaint, however, as it seems lackadaisical at best. One glaring example during my stay was an all-night car horn in the parking lot. Not a car alarm, which resets eventually, but a steady blare of an auto horn from approximately 11 pm to about 7 am the next day. Even earplugs did not block out the sound, and the front desk claimed they couldn't find the owner of the car. Why they didn't have it towed or silenced somehow, when it is the main function of a hotel to provide a good night's rest, they could not answer.
The breakfast bar is okay, with biscuits and gravy, one of those waffle machines showing up everywhere, and a decent assortment of yogurt, fruit, cereal, and juices. The lobby is oddly set up, with big overstuffed furniture arranged like a conversation pit and a desk with a guest-use computer and printer next to the window.
As a place to stay overnight on your way through Tyler, it's fine. But as a base for multiple-day occupancy, you can do a lot better.
Upper level rooms get you away from the lobby and parking lot noises.

After researching our log book, the only complaint I found regarding a continuous car horn was on March 19th of this year – it was the only one we received of the 56 rooms occupied that night. I can only assume that the majority of our guests were either unaware of, or not troubled by, this incident. Again, I am very sorry that it troubled you. It is my hope that you would be willing to return to us since a noise issue of this nature is such an isolated incident and unlikely to be repeated.
As to your comments regarding the overall property and service provided, I can say with certainty that our property is consistently in the top ten properties in Tyler on TripAdvisor (#5 as of this reply); in the top 9% of Best Westerns worldwide with regards to both service and property conditions based on guest surveys and Best Western Brand Standard Property Inspection scores; and as a 2012 winner of the Champion Award in Customer Care for Best Westerns worldwide it is clear to me that the vast majority of our guests have decided that we offer both a great property and great service.
Once again I sincerely hope that you will give us another chance, but wherever your travels take you in the future, I wish you safe journeys and great stays.
