As we are new to the area and looking for dining suggestions, this restaurant was highly recommended to us. Some things about it are very nice--the decor (furnishing, china, linens), a large and friendly wait staff, nice cocktails. Some things are disappointing--water that tastes of chlorine, having to remind wait staff to replace utensils twice, having to grind our own pepper. We took the waiter's recommendation for the appetizer--fig pastry--split it and it was good. We split the house salad and it was good, too. My husband ordered the beef filet with crab cooked medium rare. It came medium well and was returned to the kitchen. The second time it was done correctly and the beef was good but the crab was tasteless. I had the waiter's recommendation of Norwegian salmon. It was dry and fishy and I left it. As he didn't return to check on my meal, it just sat there on the table until my husband was finished. The restaurant made amends by comping the salad and the fish and bringing us a dessert to split. While that is a nice gesture, it doesn't completely make up for not having the special dinner date we had planned. A beautiful setting doesn't make up for food quality.
