Stanley's is a classic Texas BBQ joint. It is small - maybe 8 tables inside (but with a good amount of covered patio seating, which is heated in the winter). There are long lines - they open at 11 am for lunch and the lines start up to an hour early. But boy, is it worth it! Their brisket has a unique, black-peppery bark that is kind of like a little beef jerky veneer. Pork ribs fall off the bone. Cold beer. I was recently in Tyler for 3 days, and I ate there every day.
