“Simply Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

We are already planning our next trip. Our kids 5 and 2, enjoyed the stay so much that they even asked when we are going back. My family stayed at the newer Fairway Pines on the first floor looking at the beautiful pool for 2 nights. Because it was Christmas weekend, it seemed like we had the place to ourselves. We enjoyed walking on the trails ringing the golf course and playing with the kids in the play area. We did not dine there so cannot say anything about the food. The staff is very friendly and courteous. There was no mini-fridge in the room so it was a challenge to keep the kids' milk chilled. We took day trips to the woodlands mall. We took a dip in the pool although it was cold. There is a whirlpool with hot water. I can imagine the pool being the center of the action in Summer. Definitely a wonderful place for families with active little children and people looking to relax by taking it easy.

Room Tip: First floor rooms with pol view are wonderful!

Was back at the Woodlands Resort and Conference Center for a work conference. First time being housed in the 'cottage rooms'. If these rooms have been updated since the property opened in the mid 1970's, I'd be surprised. Dirty tiles in the bathrooms, peeling paint, sloping floors and a general dirty feel to the room. Also circuitous walk to the room past puddles of water, glasses left outside rooms for more than 24 hours and cracking sidewalks. Since the hotel didn't seem to be that busy, can't imagine why I got put out in the hinterlands of old, dirty cottage rooms. I'll take the paper-thin walls of the newer rooms over this.

Room Tip: Stay away from these cottage rooms until the resort upgrades.

Visiting the conference center was first class. Food was excellent, rooms are well apportioned and staff is very helpful. I reall enjoy golf on the TPC course designed by Gary Players. 13th hole is one tough shot onto an island

Room Tip: The cottages along the 18th hole are beautiful.

Eric D,
We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit with us and got to experience a great course in the former Tournament Players Course. The Woodlands Country Club does a great job keeping those courses in pristine condition. We look forward to serving you again soon.

Came here for a conference and had the unexpected experience like being at home in my Norwegian cabin. My travelling coworkers all agreed that the grounds were like the countryside at home (albeit without the mountains and views). We wouldn't agree about the convenience of off site eating, but if you are looking for a relaxing stay in the woods, this place is for you. I note that the room interiors reflect the date of construction, but I would have to say that at a room price only slightly higher than a room at the Omni at the Galleria, my two bath semi-suite deserved its rating.

I was lucky, my bedroom view was the Big Thicket and I am partial to any place that serves blintzes for breakfast.

I had to go here on business and was really thinking to just get over it. Also, I am not a Golfer (grown men hitting on tiny balls walking in a park?) so I was focussing on the place and the meetings. But I found this quite a nice place with good service, quiet area and proximity to The Woodlands town centre, which is - by American standards - really nice.

As part of a birthday celebration we stayed @ the Woodlands Resort due to the proximity to the Dosey Doe and its services offered along with quiet accomodations. We got so much more! The front desk services were so accomodating and friendly. All the staff from maintenance to above truly seem to enjoy their jobs and we always had staff asking if we needed anything. All service was prompt and with a smile. Refreshing!!! The town car service referred was great and just as good. The whole area we found to be courteous and welcoming to visitors from the DQ to the owner of the Dosey Doe. It is highly recommended...saw Al Stewart. Loved the venue there too! We even got in a business lunch on our celebration to make this event a truly great memory.
Hope to be back soon and visit the area more.

I have stayed at this property numerous times on business. It has a weird dynamic. On one hand, the rooms are very dated with what has to be 1980's or 90's furniture yet has an incredible bed/ linens combo. The dining room has surprisingly good food for this type of hotel yet the resort grounds are very average. Exterior of buildings are dated looking. I do like the refreshment stations that are on hand for conferences. This place could be a destination with a little facelift.
