Description: Bringing the best of the backyard to the restaurant scene When award winning, celebrity chef Kent Rathbun created the gourmet backyard cuisine concept, some scoffed. Others thought it was crazy enough that it might just work. Well as it turned out, Chef Kent was onto something and his unique concept soon became an award winner too - a Nation's Restaurant News Hot Concept! Award winner. What exactly is gourmet backyard cuisine? It relies on fresh, seasonal ingredients of the highest quality. It uses recipes that are familiar and loved. It combines the two, elevating both to a level that's comforting, yet unexpected at the same time. Lunch, dinner, Sunday brunch and Sunday night family-style or regular service dinner -every meal is simpler than you'd expect from an Iron Chef America winner and better than you've ever had in any backyard or restaurant.

“Jasper's is worth a trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

The food was very good. 10 of us ate there and everyone enjoyed their meal. We had reservations for 8:15 but had to wait 20 mins. for a table even though there was an empty 10 person table. We complained and they did bring some free appetisers which were great so, at least they made up for the screw up. If you are at the Woodland's Resort their shuttle will take you right to Jasper's.

“Great restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

We were referred here by the woman who checked us in at the Hyatt, which is within walking distance. They were crowded, but the hostess found a table. The food was fantastic, and it was only exceeded by the service. The woman who served us, had a friendly personality, and made both wine and dinner recommendations, which were very good. I look forward to going back.

“Happy hour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

Went there for happy hour with my boyfriend and wasn't disappointed. $5 apps and drinks. The place was busy, but we got a spot by the bar. Chicken lettuce wraps, salmon croquettes, sausage pizza, brisket stuffed chili relleno, chips with shrimp and crab queso dip. I would order the salmon corquettes again and chicken lettuce wraps, skip the queso and relleno. The beef sliders looked awesome. Raspberry martini, happy daddy martini, and pear martini. Skip the raspberry martini and go with the happy daddy or pear martini.

“Restaurant for gourmets in Texas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

Whoever thinks Texas food is not good should go to Jasper's in the Woodlands. Try their crab cake as a starter and then the ribs (huge portions). Service is very good and the Californian wines excellent.
