“Comfortable spacious room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

I stayed just one night and chose it for the location close to a race I was running the net morning. I had checked in via the mobile app and a lady was there to meet me when I arrived and sent me straight to my room. The room was very comfortable, well equipped and spacious but why no bath robe? Maybe that's normal for these type of hotels in the US and I just need to remember ot pack one in future but its surprising to me. Staff all nice and helpful, friendly.

The Good:

The location of the hotel is perfect if you are attending anything at the Cynthia Mithcell Pavillion. Literally a 5 minute walk from my hotel room to the gate.Movie theatre directly across from the hotel and plenty of dining/entertainment options within a short walking distance. Zach at check-in was extremely helpful, courteous and efficient. Gave us the room we asked for with no problem, even though it was a busy weekend(700 guest wedding, 2 big concerts) Loved having the balcony to get fresh air. The hotel itself is quiet, even with so much activity going on.

The Bad:
For what you get room-wise, this hotel is way overpriced($229 is what we paid for 1 night). We had a room with two doubles and the full-sized beds were so uncomfortable it made it very difficult to get a good night's sleep. They charge for everything. Parking in the garage is $11/day, valet is $17) There is a free lot across the street but being there for a concert we didn't even bother and just self-parked in the garage. Wifi should be free in the room, not just the public areas. The bathtub didn't have "grips" so it was really slippery. The coffeemaker needed to be cleaned. Just wasn't what you'd expect out of a $200 room.

I'd stay again if they ever drop their rates to something reasonable.

Just being in the Woodlands is cool, and this hotel adds to the experience. Reasonable rate for the area. Excellent access to restaurants, the waterway and the Woodlands Pavilion. Walk to anywhere u need to go and enjoy!

No fan or circulation in the bathrooms. Customary for this entire hotel (per staff)

Additionally the air in hotel room is stagnant, making it difficult to sleep, thermostat says 67f feels like 80f. Its 3:00AM, can't sleep and can't wait to check out tomorrow. Such a shame, I see the Marriott staff make an effort but this problem is beyond their control. Typical corporate culture, skimp on the central air and proper ventilation for rooms but throw money on interior design and really thick down comforters. Didn't try the food, too many bad reviews.

My husband & I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. The hotel was in the perfect location. Once we parked, did not have to drive again. Movie theater across from hotel. All shopping and restaurants right accoss the street. We were upgrade to an executive suite, so the room was big with a sitting area. Breakfast was free with the room, food great. There was a free trolley right out the hotel to take you all over the woodlands. The trolley boat cost $5 and was well worth the ride. Make sure to ask for room with a view of the water. The only low point was that the spa service was not that great, had better. No compliants, will return.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view of the waterway.

Service from our arrival was top shelf, staff were all very cordial. A luxury hotel in all aspects. Located on the waterway in the Woodlands. Super convenient, could take the trolley free to many stores and restaurants Our room had a great view of the water way. There was a water taxi service on the waterway, that you use for a small fee.

Our room was very clean, we had a king size bed that was wonderful. The bath was very nice and had a full compliment of shampoos etc.

We were there to attend a concert at the Cynthia Woods venue which was within walking distance fo the hotel.

I has an extended stay, high rooms are preferred. Hotel is surrounded by plenty of good restaurants. Wifi and parking are a rip off, other Marriott brands in the area give both free, although this property charges, with an extra premium for high speed internet. No real gripes on the whole. If you want a decent hotel in The Woodlands it's is here or the Hyatt on Market Street.
