“Nature close to home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

The nature preserve is a nice place to get away from noise and crowds. The trail is flat and easy for all ages. The best time to visit and see wildlife is at sunrise or sunset. We have seen wood ducks there (wow) and lots of egrets and herons.

“Time to expand the trail : The Mitchell Trail”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

There is a huge latent fitness community within The Woodlands, walkers, hikers, runners. A Fitness Trail between between Gosling and Kuykendahl would be about 3.5 miles long. This trail (the Mitchell Trail ?!) would be in constant use, mostly by taxpaying adults, especially if full function trailheads were provided on both ends:
Parking, restrooms, drinking fountains, even covered pavillions. So many excellent sports facilities have been provided for our youth. Let's now do this for our fitness oriented adults, another unique feature attracting people to The Woodlands.

“A walk in the woods”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Lots of trails and a new bridge that connects the side on Flintridge and Creekside. At the right time of year you can see various birds. Could use more parking on the Flintridge side.
Also bring water as there are no fountains. A fun walk or bike ride with family and friends.

“Into the Woods”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

The Woodlands has nearly 200 miles of fantastic well shaded paths that meander throughout the area. But if you want to get a little more into the woods, head over to George Mitchell Nature Preserve. It's a beautiful walk and the trails are longer than I expected. Be sure to keep track of which side trail you wandered off on. :) There are several entry points and several paths that cross over each other.

“Peaceful hike in the middle of The Woodlands”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

On several occasions I've taken my dog for a hike along the various woodland trails (always on a leash). Trails are well marked and the scenery can't be beat if you want a get away from suburbia. Good areas exist near Spring Creek for bird watching. Very peaceful/ serene.
