“Easy access, close to everything, no frills no fuss...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013 via mobile

This newer hotel is what you'd think of as a trustworthy and reliable place to stay. Clean surroundings, comfortable beds, no freeway noise, flat screen TV and located close to a couple of small malls, movie theater, and restaurants. One of the few hotels where the windows can be opened for fresh air. Also, we thought the breakfast was just the average offering, nothing really special. Fruit salad was old, and mushy. Powdered eggs, air - fluffed tasteless potatoes, but they did have hot cooked oatmeal, yogurt and real coffee cups and glasses for juice so those were nice little touches.

PERKS: awesome BIG tiled shower with great water pressure! Indoor pool was small and heated to the right temperature, lots of towels available. Pictures posted are current and correct, sometimes hotels post outdated or incorrected pix, but their's are exactly spot-on.

ROOM for IMPROVEMENT: the hot tub was not functioning, but NO sign was posted anywhere stating it was down. not knowing this, I climbed in while my husband tried to turn the power jets on. The water was a little greenish looking, but we talked about it and decided it was due to being nighttime and low lights in the pool area. But the bleach was so strong it burnt my face. My husband told them about the hot tub not working, and the desk clerk just said he'd have to REPOST the down sign as someone must have removed it. Next morning - still no sign that the hit tub wasn't working.

We booked this property specifically to have an indoor hot tub (which isn't very prevalent in Texarkana!). We were actually visiting Hope, AR, but stayed 40 minutes away in Texarkana just to have a hot tub. Well, we arrived to this new hotel, which was a good price and wasn't hard to find, and went to see the pool and hot tub before we even brought in one bag from the car. It looked clean and nice, and the water was hot, so we checked in. Upon arrival our one bedroom king suite room was clean and even larger than we thought it would be. The couch, chair and desk chair were quite comfortable, too. After unloading, my husband changed and went directly to the hot tub, which he immediately discovered was nothing more than a tub of hot water, because the jets weren't working!! To say he was unhappy was a major understatement. If we had had any time left, then we would have immediately checked out, but we were on our way to a funeral and didn't have time. We won't be staying here again, because the bed was rock hard and covered with a plastic cover that was very noisy, we couldn't get the room to get any cooler than 74, despite sleeping with the window open when it was below freezing outside, and the breakfast was nothing more than barely ok. The waffles were so dry and pasty that I couldn't eat more than a couple bites. We always eat the hotel waffles, but these were inedible. I was excited about the "omelets" until I tasted it, and discovered that they were made from powdered eggs and were a terrible consistency. I ended up eating a bowl of cereal and being unhappy with breakfast. Even my husband, who eats practically anything, couldn't eat his waffle. To be fair, the staff was very pleasant, and the hotel was clean and new. But the hard bed that we could barely sleep on, broken hot tub, and bad breakfast will keep us from staying there again. And, yes, I did bring everything to the attention of the front desk, but got nothing more than a "so sorry." So sorry to Carlson, but we won't be back!

We booked a last minute stay during travel and saw the ratings of this place on tripadvisor. The staff was quite friendly and the room was quite large especially considering the price. The shower was huge. Everything was clean and nicely arranged. Hot breakfast included waffles, eggs, biscuits, bagels, etc. highly recommend this hotel for your stay.

Nice comfortable place. Very friendly staff. Michelle even made extra breakfast for us since we didn't get down there until nine ! Thank you. Will stay again if I'm in the area. Comfy beds and fluffy pillows. Staff was very accommodating.

Been on the road for over a month and this was the last stop on the way home. Super comfortable beds and pillows. Very clean and nice hotel. I would suggest this anyone. Price was exceptional. This was definetely a good surprise in amongst a long time on the road with some not so nice experiences.

My husband and I stayed here one night while in town for a funeral. After an exhausting trip from southern Alabama, I was relieved that it was such a comfortable, cozy, and no-fuss hotel. The staff is professional and very helpful. The hotel is right off of the interstate, but secluded and quiet. The standard king guest room was spotless and had a massive walk-in tiled shower. Definite bonus! The complimentary breakfast, far more than cereal and pastries, was much appreciated. I would highly recommend staying here!

Nice, new hotel on the northwest side of Texarkana, across the interstate from Gander Mountain. GREAT shower, comfortable beds, pool & workout room, free breakfast--the newness was very evident, the staff was awesome. We just needed a place to crash while we were working on a rent house. We found a little gem!
