We stayed at this hotel because my husband had to have lasik eye surgery at Ft. Hood 30 minutes away and we needed a nice comfortable place to stay since we had to stay overnight for his morning eye check-up. I requested my usual requests which were to have a high floor, quiet room, away from the elevator. We were arriving an hour before check-in and so I called the hotel ahead of time to let them know we needed an early check-in because my husband needed to rest as soon as possible. I wasn't sure they would have a room ready but when we got their our room was ready, everything seemed clean and my husband was able to lay down to rest his eyes.
I reserved a junior suite so that he could have a space separate for me and the boys. The suite was a good size. It came equipped with a refrigerator and microwave which are always a plus more like a must for me. The hotel was close to a lot of eating places and stores which was convenient.
The reasons I didn't give an Excellent rating was because there were a couple of small things I would change. The living room furniture was pretty run down and in need of replacement. I requested fresh linens, which I always do because I know a lot if not most hotels don't wash the top comforter and blankets that often. I didn't notice it right away, but I did finally notice that the top comforter had stains which told me the linens weren't fresh like I had requested. Also, I usually only reserve rooms at hotels that offer complimentary hot breakfast but since this was the nicest hotel closest to Ft. Hood Army Base I went ahead and chose to stay here and either go elsewhere to eat breakfast or eat at the hotel's restaurant, which we ended up doing.
The hotel desk clerk, Cassie, was VERY friendly and attentive. I always appreciate it when the hotel staff take pride in their job and try their best to accommodate their guests. That night we wanted to try the cheesecake at the hotel's restaurant but was going to try it once we came back from getting dinner but the restaurant closed at 9 and we didn't have enough time to make it back in time, so we called the hotel and asked if they could save a piece for us to pick up once we got back and Cassie made it happen.
The pool and hot tub was very nice and is always a treat because my boys love to swim. All in all, our stay was nice and I would stay here again with a couple of "tweeks."
