For many years Oak Street Cafe was located on Oak Street. It recently moved to Broadway Street and is now in a larger facility with limited parking but still named Oak Street Cafe. The new location still contains worn out chairs, uneven tables, red plastic drink glasses and a concrete floor. In both locations I have shared a meal with friends. However, I never found anything special about the food. In fact sometimes it border-lined on awful. During my last visit I ordered a BLT sandwich. The bacon was cooked almost to the point of being jerky. The toasted bread was so dry it was hard to eat. The menu is typical grill cooked cafe food. There is outdoor seating but the wind blows all the time and people smoke there. I really hope friends do not invite me to go there again.
