“Quiet and Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

If staying in the Sugarland, Richmond, New Territory, First Colony area this is a well-priced hotel in a great location. Minutes from Highway 59 and can reach Katy in about 15. Friendly and helpful staff, free breakfast, free internet, and even offer free happy hour with beer and wine. The rooms were large offering a microwave and fridge. In a quiet location just behind a shopping center in walking distance to retailers such as Starbucks, Subway, Chili's, HEB, Chick-fi-la, Baskin Robbins and many more.

Wonderful hotel. Very new. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Well worth the extra money to stay here compared to other hotels nearby. Good breakfast. Free wine and beer at daily happy hour. Won't stay anywhere else!

This hotel is very well kept. The only "strange" thing....in our room, someone had placed a washcloth over the smoke detector (housekeeping SHOULD have seen this)...we did inform the desk clerk .... our room was non-smoking, obviously someone had chosen to smoke in the room.

We were given bottles of water upon check-in which we appreciated after a day on the road. The breakfast area was not very "cozy", but spotlessly clean, good breakfast also.

We found this hotel to be of a very good standard with everything very clean and well presented. The breakfast was very good with a wide choice of products both hot and cold.
The location is slightly away from the main business and shopping area but still easy enough to find.

Stayed here two nights on a weekend while visiting family in Sugar Land. Hotel is west of the official downtown Sugar Land, which can be a bit congested and noisy. Very clean and quiet hotel. Large room with good size bathroom. Shower provides plenty of hot water quickly. Hotel sits right behind a shopping center with several restaurants..Joe's Crab Shack, Salt Grass, Whataburger, Chick Fillet, H.E.B grocery store, Walgreen's and much more. Definitely recommend this hotel when in Sugar Land.

My wife and I took a trip to Houston and did not want to stay exactly in the city, if you dont mind driving 11-20 minutes on the highway into houston this is a great place tucked in a nice cove area. We had a nice stay bed was very comfortable, big bath tub. Ask for a view of the field on the opposite side, you can enjoy a beautiful sunset.
I am very picky about where i stay this place was perfect. also visit area golf course pretty nice.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2010

I've heard good things about this hotel from family, and it was convenient, so, after a 13 hour drive, we were very glad to arrive for our three night stay. We were given our 2 queen room key, and arrived at the room to discover linens strewn about and a mattress against the wall.
We went back downstairs and were given an upgrade by the front desk clerk to a king room with a pull out sofa and a full kitchen. When we entered, however, we were hit with this... this odor. We narrowed it down to the drain in the middle of the bathroom floor, turned on the bathroom fan and the A/C to get the scent out.
We were exhausted, and I assumed (rightly or wrongly) that all bathrooms might have a stinky floor drain, or we would have asked to switch rooms again. So we bore with it.
That night, when bathing, I found myself unable to be in the tub near the floor, so strongly was the odor emanating from the drain. We covered it with a rubber bath mat to block the smell, and decided to mention it to the front desk the next morning.

The next day, we left the A/C going full blast and the bathroom fan on, and I mentioned the smell to the front desk clerk (not assuming there was really much they could do).

To my surprise, when we returned that evening, though the room still stunk, they had screwed some sort of cover over the bathroom drain. Unfortunately, the smell had so permeated the carpet/walls/etc that I don't know if there's much they can do, but they had taken a step. And this night, we were able to bathe without the stench being unbearable.

The following day, the smell was still there, it seemed to be permanent. But despite all that, we had a decent stay there. The standard details:
The bed was comfy.
The TV was a CRT.
Internet access was ok, but nothing to brag about.
The free breakfast was one of the better ones out there.
The room and public areas were clean.
If you consider booking a room with a full kitchen, it's a little of a weird layout. Picture the room being in the shape of a "P". The bed is at the base of the straight line. The sofa bed was at the top of the line. The Kitchen is along the rounded part-- like they took half of your neighbor's room. The appliances were along a wall with a big empty floor in the middle, as if they forgot to put the dining table in.

Will we stay there again? Probably at the right price. But the lesson learned was to bring febreeze when staying in a hotel.
