This was one of our favorite seafood restaurants but yesterdays visit will move it down the list a bit. We'll still go and enjoy the food, but we won't be in a hurry to get there...
The food was tasty but not fantastic. Our appetizer, Oysters Baton Rouge, was good but was not the same as the grilled oysters I have had in Baton Rouge...those came with a tasty butter and bread to dip it up with. This came as oysters on a bed of rock salt with cheese melted on top.
Our entrees were also good. I had a salmon that was on special with crab meat and shrimp over corn with bacon. Tasty but the portion was on the small side. My wife had a decent plate of fried crawfish.
So everything was good but the prices were higher than the value of the plates we had by a good bit and the atmosphere has deteriorated over the years. It was very noisy (that is normal, I think) and they also screamed obnoxiously when they were readying to sing Happy Birthday. Happy Birthday being sung is one thing; there is no need to shout at the top of your lungs to get everyone's attention. The rest of this are there to celebrate our own things...this is the type of behavior I would expect in a much lower priced/lower quality establishment.
