“New York Italian in Southlake Texas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

What makes an Italian restaurant more than just great food, great service, and immersive decor? It's atmosphere! Atmosphere that's generated by laughter, often clinking glasses, and aromas to die for. Atmosphere generated by the culinary skills of a master chef and the happy faces of a wait staff so very proud of the dishes they serve that they treat you like family. This Buca di Beppo is a place of refuge, of comfort and friendship. A trip back in time to when you were a guest at aunt Sophie's or cousin Frankie's or that little Italian place that you loved so much when you were growing up.

This last visit was our third time eating here, and we went with another couple. Usually it is family or friends. We ate at the table in the kitchen. What more can I say ... for a little while we left the freeway world outside and were reminded of why we used to love those little family owned Italian restaurants in Houston, Boston, and New York.

“Great atmosphere but food is not consistent”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

Bucca's lasagna and caesar slad used to be among the biggest and best. On my last visit the lasagna was not as tall as advertised and the salad was wilted. An order of spaghetti and meatballs had great meatballs but lackluster sauce. A good fun place for group dining but there are many other italian eateries in the area, particularly some BYO dining spots that have more pride in their food preparation

“You're kidding, right?”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012 via mobile

I would not go back here on a bet. First of all, portions are family sized, so you are all getting the same meal. The meal. The waiter was bragging about the lasagna, we tried. What a mistake. I've had better from frozen at a better price. Will not make that mistake again.

“Great Service and lots of food”

Don't go unless you are ready to eat. Large family style portions reasonably priced and all was fantastic.

“Great decor and good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

We come here once in a whle for pasta - which I rarely eat any more. But the place is totally decked out with photos from the old days, and all kinds of random Italian motif. it is a fun environment and the food is served family style. A good value for the family and the food is really good. The wine is served room temp (neg) but other than that everything we have had here has been great.
