“Early Valentine's Day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

My husband and I dined here on February 13th to celebrate Valentine's Day. The food and service were excellent. I asked our server, Eric, (who was awesome) for his opinion on the miso glazed sea bass, the parmesan encrusted flounder and the shrimp and crab grits. He described each one but really sold the shrimp and grits. It was wonderful, with a smoky, sweet and savory sauce. My husband said his steak was good also and it turned out that Wednesday was the night for half price bottles of wine! Overall, a very good experience.

“Great Thanksgiving night experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

We decided to treat the family, 4 adults and one child, to a night out for Thanksgiving rather than cook at home. We chose Truluck's because, of the area restaurants open on that night, it was a table service meal, not a buffet. They served the traditional Thanksgiving meal but also offered their normal evening menu. As it turned out, everyone in our group ordered from the evening menu, instead of ordering the traditional meal. AND, everyone was very happy with their meal. The food was lovely; the service was impeccable. It was a great decision to eat at Truluck's for Thanksgiving. As chief cook at home, I hope Thanksgiving night out at Truluck's will become a family tradition.

“Morbidly overpriced for what it is”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

I recently spent some time in the lounge area of Truluck's and based on that experience, will not be back again. Drinks are severely overpriced. The lone Bordeaux offering was $17 a glass for a bottle that retails at $15. Food quality was OK at best. The cheese plate was a disinteresting array of items from a supermarket. The clientele were very into themselves, which is not unexpected in Southlake, but can get to be a bit much.

Perhaps the most distracting aspect of the night was the lounge piano player. Every single song sounded the same, and it all came across as very cheesy and lounge lizardish. At some point, a few regular patrons took their chairs around the piano and started an off-key singalong, which was simply awful.

I had expectations that Truluck's slotted into the mid-to-upper tier steakhouses, but it's nowhere close, unfortunately.

“Perfect Evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

Our family had dinner here celebrating my husband and mother's birthday. They seated us in a quiet place as requested. Megan and and everyone that helped her were fantastic.

The food was glorius. Blue cheeses wedge salad and Ceasar Salads, Alasken King Crab leg dinner and chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was excellent. We all have crab cakes and stone crab claws too. Way too much food.

Truluck's is a really nice place to have a birthday celebration with the family. I noticed several tables around us were doing the same thing.

I left my black scarf at the restaurant and live in the Dallas/Richardson area. They mailed to to me. Such nice people. We will be back.

“Great Bar Area!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

We were here on 2-2-13. We sat in the bar, had app, and drinks....the happy hour specials were great, food, service, everything really good. We went back the next day, Sunday, there was a sign on the door saying they were closed for some kind of event? Where was the sign Saturday night? What kind of place just closes? Weird, and I think not a way to run a business!
