We stayed here only because of my husbands corporate discount thru his work and I can tell you we'll never stay here again, we had a HUGE roach in our bathroom, ppl stomping on the floor upstairs constantly, we were even told we couldn't have breakfast one morning because their pancake machine broke down and went over their 9:30 cutoff time... ridiculous.... the price was ONLY comparable with his discount, we won't be staying here again

I got a great deal on a suite (I use this word loosely and will explain later) for four nights over Thanksgiving--only about $100 a night--for my family of five. As reviews indicated, the location was a short walk from the beach, so no problem there. And I can't complain about the price. I can complain, however, about the fact that one of only two elevators was broken during our entire stay, so it took us a very long time to check out on Sunday. In addition, what HIE calls a suite is really just one large room. We had to turn the air all the way down to 65 to get the other end of the room cool enough, and the only tv was on the bedroom end of the room, which meant that when you were sitting on the couch you were a long way from the tv. I'm not a big fan of the HIE breakfast, but it was fine. Coffee is always too weak. Whoever slept on the pull-out couch had a rough night's sleep, as there was very little padding covering the springs.

The explain the title, my wife just returned from a 9 day 4000 mile driving trip from home to SPI and back. We decided to stay exclusively at Holiday Inn properties to accumulate club points.
Needles to say, we did not enjoy this property at all. First, I booked 3 rooms for us and family, called specifically to the hotel prior to arrival to make sure my brother inlaw could check in under his own name when he arrived first. Well the staff on duty completely botched this up, and would not let them check until we arrived. Secondly, There was some sort of church youth conference group staying at the hotel, thousands of pre pubescent, hormone enraged running the hotel day and night, impossible to relax. The breakfast, besides being overran with the above every morning was not even close to the standards of the other 7 HI properties we stayed at. The orange juice was sour one morning.
Finally. the water in the pool was terribly cold, it was 88 while we were there, but the pool was awful.
We chose this hotel because of reviews as well as our rewards account, but quite frankly if this is the best SPI has to offer, it is an island sorely lacking of any decent accomodations.

My stay was great! The staff were very friendly, and attentive to our needs.The rooms are clean. plenty of room very cozy and comfertable. it is walking distance to the beach. I highly recomend Holiday inn Express and I plan on staying there again.
