“Nice beach tourist experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2014

The seafood was not as fresh as I would have expected; I can get better in Dallas. The ambiance & view made the meal festive & touristy which my teen liked. The wait was expected to be long, but ended up only being on 15-20 minutes. The wait staff was very friendly. The specialty drinks were a bit disappointing. I was not sorry we went here for dinner.

“Greasy Spoon”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2014

Shrimp was good, we got the sampler platter and it was filling for the two of us. Son got a burger and it looked pretty good. It is your average fried and greasy joint. This was our first stop on the island while waiting to check into our hotel. The location was great, never having been on the island before we were able to look out at the ocean, see the pirate ship go by and just take in some scenery. Waitress was very nice. My margarita was cheap and was not that good. But it was a one time experience, not enough to go again.

“Not so good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2014

This was supposed to be one of the better restaurants in the area but we were not impressed.
I'm not understanding how so many people thought this was good sea food...it was all lacking seasoning that would've made the food so much better.
I would suggest the restaurant inside the Hilton Garden Hotel-it was quite enjoyable.

“Never had a better seafood omelet!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2014

We had breakfast here on the way off the island and it was the highlight of our rainy two-night stay on South Padre. Dinner the night before was the second highlight. I had the most amazing omelet with blackened shrimp, avocado and creamy seafood sauce. There were perfectly cooked home fries and a biscuit to boot! Outside our window were pelicans and a pod of dolphin swimming by. The Bloody Mary was also quite delicious! Service was friendly and efficient. I forgot what I ate here the night before because the omelet made such an impression.

“Eh”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2014

It was so so. They need to work on their wine selection. I realize most people order a cocktail since it's an island atmosphere, but they should offer a few higher end wines that won't cause a hangover from the extra sulfates found in cheaper wines. Their food was ok, but seemed overpriced for what it was. At least there were some healthier options. Nice view at least.
