“Not bad for I-10 in west Texas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2011 via mobile

Prices are a lot better than Fort Stockton, not located right on the interstate, walking 50 yards in the dark in 20 degree weather to eat breakfast in the lobby was different...but the breakfast is made to order which was unexpected. Clean room, but they do need to be updated...starting to show its age.

When you are driving that long stretch, the value cant be beat. Again, great Beds, but this time our car was broken into and there is no security. Lost some Christmas gifts. So, Beware.

Sonora, TX has very little to no criminal activity. Sonora is a small, but very friendly west Texas town. The Best Western Sonora Inn has mulitiple law enforcement patrols every night to be sure there is little to no criminal activity.

We looked into the guests claim of their car being broken into. We found that was not the case. The guests left their luggage on the vehicle luggage rack and traveled down Interstate-10. They discovered their belongings were missing from the luggage when they noticed them blowing out as they drove. The zipper had come loose and the bag opened.

There was no vehicle break-in or damage. The guest review is not accrately detailed. While the guests apparently lost belongings, the hotel was not notified until the guests had driven several hours on I-10. We appreciate the positive remarks in the review and hope to see the guests again. Hopefully, we can give these guests a better experience and an overall better feeling of Sonora's security.

When you travel that part of Texas there are not a lot of choices. If you book online, you get a better price. The staff was friendly. We found it to be clean and comfortable. The pool was just great and their breakfast is not skimpy. Wish they allowed small dogs. I would stay again if they did. Book ahead, they do fill up quickly year round.

This was my third stay at this motel. The rooms are adequate, beds comfortable. Good place to stay after being on TX highways forever. The free breakfast was a disappointment. On my last two stays, they had run out of orange juice prior to my arrival at breakfast, so if that is important to you, stay elsewhere.

My husband and I were vacationing and decided to stop for the night. We found our room to be super clean with a very comfortable bed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be recommending it to our friends when they are traveling on
I-10.

Surprisingly nice hotel in such a tiny town.

Our room was relatively large, had a comfy king bed with 6 nice pillows and a bolster. The fridge was on but not cold when we arrived, but it cooled down quickly enough to freeze our gel packs overnight and chill our soda & water. The room had a desk. The shower/tub combination and toilet were in a separate room, but the sink (with lots of counter space) was an alcove off the main room. Plenty of hot water, good water pressure. Good soap, shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, etc. Hair dryer & ironing board.

The room was quiet. It's near but not quite on the highway, but no road noise bothered us. There was someone in the next room (he kept his curtains open all day and sat in the window), but we never heard him.

Breakfast was the only weak spot. There were some really marginal breakfast "hot" items: breakfast tacos and egg/muffin sandwiches, plus 4 kinds of cereal with milk & OJ. Nice touch: make your own hot waffles shaped like the state of Texas :-), with syrup but no peanut butter or jelly. Some instant oatmeal, hot chocolate packets, and coffee. That was about it. I had waffles, which were tasty.

My friend and I stayed only a short overnight. Check in was fast. The rooms are located in a separate building then the front desk. Doors are on the outside, no inner hallway, this was more a motor lodge or motel than a hotel. Not the safest feeling. There is a pool out the backside. We were assigned a downstairs room first, but then provided an upstairs room when we asked for it. The room was tired and old and stained and I had a moth under my pillow. Someone had killed a bug on the bathroom wall and the guts were still there. The beds were comfortable. Fridge, coffee maker, and I think microwave in room. Our room had two queen beds and a small desk. The A/C worked well. We had a lot of electronic gadgets with us and I had to unplug the clock and pull out the bed to get to a wall outlet. The internet worked the night of check in but didn't work the next morning. Breakfast was egg taco, make your own waffle, cereals, bread, juices, fruit, coffee, teas. Nothing great. We had been staying in Brand New Holiday Inn Express on this trip and were let down by this comparisson. We thought it was a good price, $95, but then, another $10 or so and we might have been a lot happier at another hotel.
